According to their website "24 IS ONE OF THE HOTTEST NEW RESTAURANTS AND NIGHTCLUBS LOCATED IN THE HEART OF DOWNTOWN ROANOKE"
Having never heard of it I mentioned it to my husband. He said he thought they were no longer in business. Tried the phone number and it has been disconnected. Too bad. Looked like a neat place to try out.
Took this photo a few months back while driving by. I didn't notice at the time it was closed. The sign was what mostly caught my eye!
Linking with Signs, Signs
Update with some good meme news! I just got an email from Madge over at The View From Right Here and she is now hosting Ruality Blog Hop.
because we all miss Nancy and Lisa's Rural Thursdays! The Ruality Blog Hop will run on Wednesdays, except for today, the very first one will be today! My post isn't very rural today, in fact isn't rural at all, but you know, I want to play along and share the news about Ruality Blog Hop!
It probably went out of business because it looks like a 21. People tried to call Restaurant 21 to make a reservation and thought it was no longer in business.
ReplyDeleteI love the treatment of the photo!
ReplyDeleteNicely designed sign nicely captured, shame the place has had to close.
ReplyDeletenow you see it, now you don't!
ReplyDeleteI guess it's the same situation around the world...
nicely designed sign - shame it didn't last - the closed business I featured had been trading for more than a century.
ReplyDeleteCreative photo ~ for Rurality ~
ReplyDeleteCarol of (A Creative Harbor) ^_^ on Blogger visiting from Rurality
That is a cool sign! Too bad it went out of business already.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for popping by my blog today! - My brother lives in Roanoke! - what a small little world.
ReplyDeleteWe had a really nice visit when we visited last summer.. cute downtown area.
wow that is crazy! it definitely is a small world! i know, i love roanoke's little downtown!
DeleteI never heard of it either - but then I don't work downtown on Church Ave anymore either ;-)
ReplyDeletewell, their logo design was definitely catchy, even if their food was not.
ReplyDeleteFYI. Do you receive my e-mails? I have been receiving messages every time I send you one that it is not being received. Just wondering.

no i haven't gotten any? i've been having a bad time with comcast and my emails bouncing. i think i'm going to have to link to my gmail account, which i never use but comcast is just being horrible lately. my gmail is the exact same except @gmail.com
DeleteIt's a neat sign. Too bad it went out of business.
ReplyDeleteYes, interesting, I like the composition you've created.
ReplyDeleteToo bad it's closed. If you can read a restaurant by its sign, I'd think this one was worth trying.
ReplyDeleteIt is really bad that all the "small" business are closing - someone don't like them being there? - I guess not.... it is a great photo of the sign and sad at same time. You have saved a bit of a history from your town I guess?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog "Earthy" it was super of you.
Awe, that's too bad they're not in business anymore. I hate when that happens, and it does happen a lot in our area unfortunately.
ReplyDeleteVery artsy sign. Too bad the restaurant didn't last. :-(
ReplyDeleteThanks for updating your post and mentioning Madge's hosting of the Rurality blog hop. I would like to join in on that one now and then.
Thanks, too, for your visit and comment on my signs this week.

Cool sign, Tanya! Too bad they are closed.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stoppin' by! Look forward to more of your 'rural' stuff!
ReplyDeleteVery cool photo! That's too bad about the restaurant, I always wonder what happens when a place sounds so promising but is closed before you even know it...such a shame!
ReplyDeleteWell, the sign was pretty neat. Too bad the restaurant and bar weren't as "hot" as they had hoped! ;)
ReplyDeleteToo bad that it folded up so quickly, I guess that is the case for many new restaurants... thanks again for pointing out the error with the blog hop badge... Thank you for joining in 'Rurality Blog Hop #1' Hope to see you next Wednesday for #2...
ReplyDeleteOne day they will figure out that eliminating so many parking places is bad for business, duh.
ReplyDeleteAt least you got the shot before the sign is gone.
Great shot! I would love to visit Virginia!
ReplyDeleteLeave it to Davis is probably right. I thought it was 21, not 24.
ReplyDeleteHow can Madge run another meme? I am exhausted just thinking about all of the work.
A clever way of putting the two numbers together, very eye catching!
ReplyDeleteI like the sign, and the treatment. Too bad it went out of business. Someone's dream... :(
ReplyDeleteHow sad it didn't make it!
