The Fincastle Christmas Parade
So we braved the cold and went to the parade. I am so happy we did. Really I couldn't say no as Braden and Dalton kept coming to me and checking the time to make sure we'd make it to the parade by 2:00. How could I resist those two?
We had a great time. It's the perfect little hometown parade! We really didn't even freeze, too badly, although at one point I almost couldn't feel my nose! The kids got heaps of candy, fireman hats and got to see Santa, 2 times in one day!
Thanks Country Dew for giving me that extra little push to go :)

Glad you had a great time at the parade! The twins look really happy with Santa! :-)
ReplyDeleteThis really captures the spirit of these small town Christmas parades (I was completely ignorant of them until 4 years ago) -- Big, strong men wearing Santa hats, and tinsel and bows on a tractor. You got it.
ReplyDeleteHometown parades are always so much fun! I'm glad your boys insisted on going...a great way to spend the afternoon!
ReplyDeleteWe had a Christmas parade here last night but I didn't get to go. Maybe next year! Sounds like you had wonderful day with your boys.
ReplyDeleteGood.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a lot of fun. I'm hoping eventually it gets warm enough here that we can go to the zoo and enjoy all the lights.
ReplyDeleteYep, we had a parade here too, although, I have no kids to take to it, so I didn't go! Glad you guys got to go & the kids enjoyed it!!!
ReplyDeleteThose two little boys know how to get what they want! Glad you went, even in the cold! Nice photo of what sounds like a lovely parade.
ReplyDeleteOurs is next weekend, hopefully it wont be that cold, but I will be out there with my camera.
ReplyDeleteI chickened out on going to ours as it was rainy. Hope Vancouver BC Wayne gets to see your post with the tractor!
ReplyDeleteHi......
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really interesting... Keep posting....Good Luck...Welcome to my blog...
Merry Christmas and happy New year.
I grew up in a town the size of a peanut... so we had teeny tiny parades when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great fun and of course you couldn't miss it with 2 sons to urge you on...it must have been cold on those floats though..
ReplyDeletesuperbe une parade de noël, c'est très américain, malheureusement en France, j'en connais pas, j'aimerais tant que la ville d'Évry en fasse une.
ReplyDeletesuperb Christmas parade, it's very American, unfortunately in France, I know, I as the city of Wollongong to do one.
Great shots. I'm glad you went. We were in the same vicinity! I probably stumbled over you and didn't even know it!
