Holy smokes, another month down the drain and another City Daily Photo Theme Day upon us. Obviously "Cafe Chairs" won the vote. It's a bit brisk out so I opted to stay inside and shot CAFEteria chairs at Lord Botetourt High School.
My daughter Ashlyn graduated from this school last year and Christian is a sophomore here. I started working part time here when we moved from Georgia after spending many years as a stay at home mom. Works out perfectly, I don't have to head in until all my kidlets are in school and I get home before them. Not much left for me to do at home now that they are all in school! I miss the days of having them at home. Ok, enough reminiscing...check out cafe chairs from all over the world by visiting City Daily Photo!

I stayed at home with my boys for ten years, then worked in the school cafeteria for 4 years before going to my current job. I loved working there because I had the same holidays they had and I was only away from home when they were....perfect job for a mom who loves to spend time with her kids!
ReplyDelete:-) It looks like a centipede!
ReplyDeleteVery colourful chairs!
ReplyDeleteWell, no one is going to move those chairs, are they! Nice idea for today, Tanya. Have a good weekend. PS You seem extremely busy and quite active blogging. Well done!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this shot the red chairs pop.
ReplyDeleteI miss kids running around too, strike that I do enjoy my alone free time too mmmm hard to decide. B
Nice composition with the red chairs and reflective frames. Of course I spotted the ice cream freezer right off.
ReplyDeleteNice shot. Some of our schools have these kind of "chairs," er, stools. Not comfortable!
ReplyDeleteI like the bursts of red in this shot.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly how you feel Tanya, bet you enjoy working here. Perfect post for today.
ReplyDeletethe hubby & i got to church dinners & they are held in the local elementary school & those tables sure are difficult for adults to use - i need to take a camera & video tape every one trying to get up - not just me but the elderly folks too. seems kind of silly. ( :
ReplyDeletethe old high school lunch dramas come spilling back... :)
ReplyDeleteOh boy - high school lunch rooms - reminds me of some awkward moments. The shot of the red stools is awesome, and I loved the reminiscing - I miss my SAHM days...
ReplyDeleteI love those chairs! So cool. We didn't have anything like this when I was in school ;)
ReplyDeleteLove the CAFEteria chairs! First one I've seen today, and they are so much nicer than the ones I remember from youth, haha. Makes me somewhat nostalgic (my mom also spent some time as a SAHM when we were younger, also serving at our elementary school for a bit, then transitioned back to the workplace full time - it did work out for her nicely, she's past retirement age and still working:).
ReplyDeleteLovely perspective!
ReplyDeleteYou've got the best of both worlds Tanya. I love the bright red stools by the way. Enjoy your weekend :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photo...
ReplyDeleteI wish my kids would slow down on the growing up! I enjoy the rare day when they are all home at once...
Happy Theme day and have a lovely weekend..
Smart idea to have the stools attached to the table so the kids can't scoot them all over the place! Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteHaha...great take on theme day! These are the same kind of "cafe chairs" I see everyday at lunch. If only you could add the smell of square pizza and corn to your post, it would be perfect.
ReplyDeleteI like the bright red disks with all the chrome limbs.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to work here. THe ice cream machines could be a problem... Cute chairs!!
ReplyDeleteFebruary went fast!! The red chairs are cute!
ReplyDeleteThose are different.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining in 'Rurality Blog Hop #4' Hope to see you next Wednesday for #5...
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly the kind of job I got when I started working. Our daughter was 10, and I worked part-time three days a week, and was home before she got home. It was perfect!
ReplyDeletePretty cool, tanya!
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you worked for the school system. Learn something new every day.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the 'calm before the storm'. Almost time for lunch!
ReplyDeleteI like your take on the theme!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the memories! (Although the cafeteria of my youth wasn't nearly as bright and shiny as this one.)
ReplyDeleteGood to see inside a school cafeteria. Looks clean.
ReplyDeleteI love 'em red and silver colors, so neat and shiny.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit! :D
Prem
Like your choice for the theme day.
ReplyDeleteI almost chose the same thing! But our cafeteria chairs aren't this bright, shiny red!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cheery for a school, but what wonderful memories you have of this place. Great choice for theme day.
ReplyDeleteBises,
Genie
