Along Wheatland Road, Botetourt County
This was Sunday...it was such a pretty day, and warm...the boys and I jumped in the car (them only excited after bribing them with Taco Bell) and drove. Yesterday was just like Sunday...this morning...cold and freezing rain. Have to take Christian out shortly to get his tire fixed. Had a flat last night and even his spare was flat!

Beautiful countryside.
ReplyDeleteThat's a very scenic looking route you took, perfect for a Sunday drive!
ReplyDeleteLovely barn on the bend in the road. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteLove that you included the road. Gorgeous shot!
ReplyDeleteI think a drive in such a beautiful countryside would be loved by everyone!

The curve in the road always makes me believe that something enticing is just around the bend.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking that was an awfully low barn, till I enlarged the photo and saw the valley...
ReplyDeleteIt has been kept up well, though, unlike some of the other buildings that have been posted to Rubbish Tuesday this week!
What about that huge house in the background Tanya, why did Scarlette O'Hara pop into my mind :)
ReplyDeleteIt just looks to me like someone would miss that curve and land right in the smack dab middle of that barn. I wonder if the barn was there before the road was built or if the farmer just snuggled that barn up against the road, maybe to protect it from wind. Who knows. Interesting.
ReplyDeleteWe've had some pretty days too. And I thought the same thing about missing the curve and hitting the barn. Thanks for joining this week!
ReplyDeletealways something! glad you can help w/ the tire!
ReplyDeleteLovely countryside... and rare to see a barn that low until you start to factor in the topography of the valley.
ReplyDeleteBeing an avid bicyclist, I can TOTALLY understand the frustration with flats. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's a pretty country scene. I love those big farm houses and I'd love to see inside!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shot!
ReplyDeleteIt is the same weather here,it is freezing. and it was like summer yesterday, 70 degrees. Of course you know this because we live not much more than an hour away. Today is not good day to be out, poor flat tire. I like the barn, it is in pretty good shape.
ReplyDeleteIt's always good to photograph interesting barns. They are rapidly disappearing as they have lost their main reason for being on a farm. Winter seems to have shown up early this year.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty sight. I'm wondering if any cars have left the road coming 'round the bend and plowed into that barn...nice house on the hill, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful farm! The Va. countryside is so lovely, always! Great barn!
ReplyDeleteA fine old barn, Tanya.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like my kind of drive!
ReplyDeleteGreat barn, and what a fun way to spend the Sunday.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition.
ReplyDeleteI would have to say this is one of my favorite shots of yours.
ReplyDeleteThat's gorgeous!
