Nice photo and a little nostalgic - it weaks memories of childhood... and the series of childrens playing is really magic.
ReplyDelete(I've linked up my post from last friday, because in this week I have so many to do around house and garden, that I take a break from "Friday Five" and any other memes)
Have a great weekend
I bought a slim volume of Sally Mann's photos around 18 years ago when visiting Lexington. Her work is amazing! But it's disturbing that people find them sexy, that says something about the beholder.
ReplyDeleteI suppose someday we will have to clothe our pets lest someone finds them indecent.
That's a very nostalgic looking image, enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you back. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteThe joy, delight and innocence of childhood...captured in such creative ways by the different photographers I LOVED! Sally Mann, though, I found disturbing. Gonna come back & link in!
ReplyDeleteYou might want to check out link #10. Looks like a spammer, LOL. Glad you enjoyed your SPring Break last week!
ReplyDeletelol i did, it's not, it's leovi ha! the title had me wondering too!
DeleteS. Mann--- I've seen her work before. Like it too.
ReplyDeleteHow nice to have some time with your boys over Spring Break. That is a very cute photo. Thanks for the links. I am going to check those out now.
ReplyDeletesweet photo.
ReplyDeleteA cute picture, and totally BOYS! Waiting on their mom and bored. I think Mann has either a deep depressive side or is rather macabre. I don't know what to make of her recent shots, and I wonder what her kids will think when they get old enough.
ReplyDeleteNice photo in B & W, great use of light and shadow!
ReplyDeleteBy now they should be used to your photography!
ReplyDeleteCute picture, and I know that experience really well. It's funny too how boys really get tired when you take them out shopping, their legs begin to hurt they just must sit down. But if they were outside playing- they never ever get tired! It's totally a boy thing- that my hubby still has too! :)
ReplyDeleteTerrific photo links! Thanks! Jason Lee's photos never fail to make me smile, but I really love those "Strong is the New Pretty" photos. And the photo of your boys is a good one! No prob not posting last week. Some things are more important than blogging.
ReplyDeleteAch! There she goes again. :-)
ReplyDeleteNice b&w shot of your boys.
ReplyDeleteInteresting article about Sally Mann. Hope you have a great weekend planned!
ReplyDeleteThey look so cute sitting there.
ReplyDeleteTanya, I just consumed an hour following your links to the four photo essays. The Sally Mann article was exceptional. I am no prude, but the issues are filled with ambiguity. Is it not child pornography when the photo is taken by the artist mother, but the same photo taken by the male neighbor is? When the children are 2o and juniors in college, how will they feel when childhood photos of them nude begin showing up in their dormitories. I think I am ultimately OK with all of it, but there are some tough calls to be made.
ReplyDeleteI just realized last night that I hadn't yet commented on your WNF5 - That was quite a different group of photographers and their photos. Sally Mann was a bit to (odd) for my taste, I did enjoy the Strong Is Pretty and The Kids Playing around the world very much. The other 2 were great and fun to look at but not (realistic) as far as photos go so. I guess I tend to be more of a realist with my photography. Still all in all it was fun to see what people can do and I enjoyed the post very much.
