  2. This is beautiful and I'm glad its been preserved! Reminds me of the story of 'Christy' in the Appalachians back then. Loved that account of the mountain people.

  3. I actually went to kindergarten and 1st grade in a one-room school house but it wasn't quite as small as this simple, loveable building

  9. Reminds me of the one room schoolhouse still in operation in Corolla, North Carolina. I wonder what Hurricane Matthew did to it.

  11. It's amazing that any learning took place here. My mother taught in a 1-room school house in the late 1920s in northern Minnesota. Oh, the tales she could tell...
