Saturday while driving around we stopped by Bay Roc Marina on Smith Mountain Lake. We walked around for a little bit, they have a nice little restaurant there and the employees were all super friendly. The manager told us the water was low because they drained the lake a bit with the scare of Irma last week and the possible flooding it would bring which turned out to be a little bit of rain in our area...nothing too bad.
Today I am thankful for living in a small community. It's almost like 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon around here! Somehow, somewhere you know someone through someone else haha...maybe that's not for everyone but I like it!

...a spot to be thankful for.
ReplyDeleteA pretty lake!
ReplyDeleteGlad the main force of the storm missed your area.
Have a wonderful day!
You were so lucky Tanya. Must Google the technique for draining a lake 😊
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. Glad Irma missed you all

A sensible precaution, anyway.
ReplyDeleteI had no idea this was even at Smith Mountain Lake! I have never been there, but a friend goes every year.
ReplyDeleteNice pics around the marina. The lake near us has dropped the water so the marina is much lower but not to mud.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a really cool place but they need to learn how to spell - I mean, really: rock is not spelled roc, and hunger is not spelled hungr. Sheesh! Heh, heh!
ReplyDeleteNice, small, and personal!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful marina!
ReplyDeleteIt's the same around my small town. You either know the person or you are related to them! Yikes! lol Thanks for linking up and have a great weekend!
