Wachovia Bank

The Wachovia Building in Roanoke. Wonder if the name will change since the Wells Fargo merger?

  2. I thought Roanoke was a little town. I am going to have to google it now. All of these mergers have my head spinning.

  3. LOL Stacy, I just take pictures while we are out doing stuff! You know us, always on the go!

Jim, Roanoke is a good size city. It's not huge, but the perfect size, has everything you need, with a nice walkable downtown that isn't intimidating. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Roanoke
We live right outside of Roanoke to the north.

  5. I imagine it will. I've been a Wells Fargo customer for a lot of my adult life, well, since the merge with Norwest Bank back in the late 90's. Very happy with Wells Fargo. Loved that I could move halfway across country and back again and never have to change my bank or my account.

    Beautiful building.

  9. Hey Eric, no we didn't see Clinton. We only found out about him being there earlier on that day and didn't have tickets but we jokingly thought that maybe we'd just bump into him, lol, my husband has a way of that always happening to him,lol...it didn't though.

Thanks everyone for stopping by :)

  10. I agree w/ Jim - my head is spinning - and I'm wondering the same thing - will the name change? Nice shot!

  11. I met the Clintons in 1994 when they presided over the 50th Anniversary Commemoration of the landings at D-Day.
They stayed on my ship (USS Goerge Washington) for two days and rode from Portsmouth England to Omaha Beach in Normandy, France.
I was on duty when Bill came aboard in Portsmouth after he visited the Queen on HMS Britannia.

    It was quite an experience.

  12. Since it used to the Dominion Tower and then the First Union Tower and then the Wachovia building, I suppose it probably will one day be the "Wells Fargo Architectural Display of Roanoke" or something.

  13. Things are changing rapidly in the world of banking, so it'll probably be taken over by someone else next week!

  15. With countrydew saying that the building has changed names several times already, it shouldn't come as a surprise if it does so again!

I've been staring at the building and I still can't decide whether I like it or now. It looks like someone in a pointed hat shrugging his shoulders. :D

  16. I know Miss Hays, it's crazy!

Eric, that's cool! What an experience you'll never forget!

CountryDew, I didn't know the building was that old to have changed names 3 times already. See what you learn blogging?!

Really Marley! It's crazy isn't it?

LOL Ken Mac and Hilda :D
