A Doe, A Deer, A Female Deer

Bambi sighting. After our little tromp through Elk Run Trail, looking for a place to picnic, we saw this cutie. We were driving by when Christian says "There's a deer" and Nick and I didn't even notice her. He had to back up, and I was still blind. Look how patiently she is posing :)

  1. Wow, this is a great photo. I can't believe she was still long enough to get such a nice photo. Very lucky!

  2. I envy you having wildlife nearby. Here we have a variety of birds, buy only wild imported animals like pigs, rabbits, feral cats, stoats, rats and mice. A nice photo Tanya. - Dave

  5. No wonder you couldn't see her... she's the same color as the leaves on the ground.... nature does wonderful things when it comes to camouflaging her creatures.

    Nice shot, Tanya!

  9. What a great picture. Most of the deer I've encountered have been unwilling to pose!

  10. Brattcat, no she stood there the whole time we were stopped to take pictures and look at her. We left first.

Angela, this area isn't part of the Appalachian Trail. We've hiked a portion of it right near our house. It wasn't a bad hike as we had the kids with us and they managed great, although I'm sure some areas would be alot tougher!

Thanks for stopping by everyone :)

  16. They're usually not that patient, was she waiting for a deer friend to catch up?
