Friday night Christian stayed the night at his friend's house. He rode the bus home with him after school and I went and picked him up Saturday afternoon. It was my first time to drive over to their house and gave me the excuse to travel down Mountain Pass Road. What a scenic drive, full of these beautiful old farms. Unfortunatley, the road was narrow with no place to pull over so my photo taking was limited to slowing down and hanging out my window. Don't you hate when you find such pretty things to photograph and they don't have a pull over spot for you?!
What a pretty place! It reminds me a little of northern Wisconsin, where I was born. Good capture, especially since you were hanging out of your car window LOL!

For a drive-by shot it turned out pretty good. I always end up with a nice shot and no place to take it from.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes, it's so frustrating. I've been traveling to a hospital about 1/2 hour every day to visit a friend and yesterday, especially, with a gorgeous new snow, I wanted to snap every ten seconds. But no time. This is an iconic farm shot. Thanks.

I love these wooden barns! We don't have them here, ours are made of stone walls or concrete, depending on how old they are.

ReplyDeleteI love American red barns. I took a lot of photos of red barns when I was in the USA last year... They are so different from French barns and French farms.

ReplyDeleteThat is a very lovely photo and on the move yet! I know the feeling of not being able to pull over and get that once in a lifetime picture. It happened to me with a beautiful blood red sunset, which I never saw before or ever again. There were cars behind us and coming towards us, so just have to remember it in my mind. I was so disappointed.

I grew up in the state of Washington, i love the area but a few of those farms could improve the scenery.
