Here it is, the first of the month again so of course that can only mean one thing,
Theme Day with the City Daily Photo crew! A couple of weeks ago I was happily surprised to find out that the bushes below my dining room window were Forsythia! (for those that don't know, we only moved here in August so all these new blooms keep surprising me!).
It's also April Fools Day! What's the best prank you've pulled, or had someone pull on you?

It certainly reminds us of spring, and we can use it! Of course, in a few months, we will all be complaining about hot it is.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a full-time photographer, we all used to pull jokes on each other. But we didn't need a special day to do it. It kept us sane to pull each other legs.
I guess the best one that was puled on me is when I was in this little place out in the middle of nowhere in Thailand. It was just a little open air eating place with a few wickered flames burning and nothing else in sight.
We were sitting around knocking mosquitoes off of us, and knocking down a few drinks, when one of the photographers left and came back, telling me that my guide said that someone had broken into his vehicle and stolen my camera gear.
All I had at the table with me was one Nikon. The rest of my loot was in the car, which was in plain site, though not in a very well lit area.
My heart really sank. My passport was in my camera bag, too.
After they let me stew over it and had me preparing to kill my driver, they all started laughing - even the driver was in on it.
I got one of them back next time I saw him. I put a piece of durian into his camera bag, way down in the bottom. It was in a baggy, but durians, which I love, start to stink to high heaven in no time in 110 degree heat.
I like that colour of plant...it really reminds me of spring:)
ReplyDeleteHappy theme day.
belle couleur du printemps, bon choix pour le thème
ReplyDeletebeautiful color of spring, good choice for the theme
When we were first married and bought our first house I chopped down a lot of the shrubery soon after we moved in. Later houses we waited a year to see what type of shrubs they were before removing them. Like yours, Tanya, some were lovely. - Dave
ReplyDeleteHi, Tanya. Hope there are lots of giggles and April Fool pranks at your house today. I once snuck over to a friend's house and put a realistic looking ceramic frog on a rock overlooking her pond. She and her husband watched the thing all day but didn't want to get close and scare it away. They were so delighted with the joke when they finally figured it out. Hahahaha.
ReplyDeleteWe have one of those bushes too, well, not sure if it's ours or the neighbors since it's so near the property line.. but it's sure purdy.

Oh no Patty! I used to work at a car dealership and my boss and I had so much fun pulling pranks on one of the young boys that worked there, we didn't need a special day to do it either..lol, made work so much fun (at least for us,lol)
ReplyDeleteThanks White Oleander, Olivier, Dave and Di :)
Oh that is too funny Brattcat!
Thats a big one. My yellow bushes all bloomed earlier this month.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize this is your first spring in Virginia. You'll love it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot. :-)
ReplyDeleteOur forsythia is not blooming yet.
I'm not great at pranks, although I'm thinking about meatloaf cupcakes for dinner.
Oh I am absolutely loving it CD! It's just beautiful around here!
ReplyDeleteJim, you are a bit ahead of us on the spring thing...c'mon, I know you've got a good joke you are going to pull on someone today!

ReplyDeletelove those forsythias! ours are almost done down here.
ReplyDeletehmmm, I guess the best April fool prank I pulled was on my mom when I was born (mumblety-mumblety) years ago today. or so she says.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful spring flowers, just in time for theme day!
ReplyDeleteForsythia is such a marvellous plant. I've seen several today and like them all. Nice choice.
ReplyDeleteForsythia! I love it & it looks even better against the green spring grass!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Tanya!
ReplyDeletePretty yellow blooms! What a wonderful surprise, Christmas in the spring!
ReplyDeleteI've already been fooled today. I'm usually pretty good at spotting lies/tricks - I'm a journalist, for crying out loud! - but for some reason, I'm a sucker for practical jokes. Never see them coming!
Forsythia made an apperance in my photo! Its such a colourful spring bush. i like how the flowers come out before the leaves.
ReplyDeletea great shot for this theme day
ReplyDeleteI love them! They are in full bloom over here too!
ReplyDeleteYou are going to find out a few more wonders in your garden I am sure!!
ReplyDeleteTis not spring without forsythia. Tis not yellow day without them either! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI always heard that we were suppose to get 3 more snows after they bloom...even if it's a snowflake!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely surprise for you! And perfect for theme day!
ReplyDeleteSo nice to have such pretty surprises by the nature around you and still be discovering your new home. Lovely TD entry.
ReplyDeleteLove the forsythia! I also pondered posting some for the theme day.
ReplyDeleteI once told my mom that she and my dad were on the front page of the local newspaper of the town I lived in. I said they were photographed by one of those speeding flashers and the media were asking if anyone knew them. My mom actually fell for it! :)
Hi Tanya! I've missed visiting your blog. The forsythia bushes are beautiful. We have lots of these pretty bushes in our neighborhood too. A lovely yellow. Have fun on your field trip.
