On Saturday we took a little drive up to DC for the day. As you can see, they still have a lot of the snow from that big storm that blew through recently. This is the reflecting pool in front of the memorial and it is a block of ice, notice everyone walking on it? We were walking on it too until a police officer yelled for everyone to get off the ice. He kept quite busy trying to keep people off it, it was pretty much a losing battle lol.
toute cette neige est impressionnante, et cela rend bien
ReplyDeleteTanya, Washington is one place I'd like to see sometime. Even though it's not that far from here, I never seem to take the time to go there. Would like to see all the different museums, and monuments that are there. I can believe that the Police were fighting a loosing battle. Their not going to stop all the visitors from doing that. I would imagine you enjoyed your time there.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous - it's been a long time since I've been there. Thanks for taking the photograph.
ReplyDeleteGreat photo! Not to many people can claim to have walked on the Refecting Pool at the base of the Lincoln Momument. That must have been exciting! Did Nick enjoy it? I'm just sayin'
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! I wonder why they don't want people walking on it. Maybe a safety issue and they don't want to get sued.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful... I've never seen a picture of the Lincoln Memorial in the wintertime. Funny, how a bit of snow changes the whole look of the place.
ReplyDeleteWhite on White! Splendid photo. Ian was there a year ago April and had a great time. Greetings from SoCal!
ReplyDeleteFinally they are able (and somehow allowed) to walk the pool. To be honest, I do miss snow with every sense I own.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Friday for you all.
It looks fantastic and I wouldn't have thought it was a pool if you didn't say so. LOL at the image of a lone cop trying to get everyone off the ice.
ReplyDeleteWow! Not something you see everyday.
ReplyDeleteDC in winter is even more impressive. I need to go there when it's iced over like that.
