August Theme Day - Postcard Worthy
This month's theme in the City Daily Photo community is "Postcard Worthy". I don't care for the title of the theme, sounds rather presumptuous to assume your photo is "postcard worthy" don't you think? But anyways, playing along with the theme, I wanted to chose a photo of a place that holds great memories for us and this would be the place. This is our little spot on Craig Creek where we have spent many weekends this summer to escape the heat. Yesterday we loaded the cooler with drinks and sandwiches and headed out. We were so lucky to have the whole creek to ourselves all day!
Being from SoCal we really appreciate places like this that are unspoiled by development and huge crowds of people!

Looks pretty enticing to me. The aim of most postcards?
ReplyDeletethis is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt is so pretty Tanya and you don't have to worry about alligators!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a beautifully peaceful scene. I agree with you re today's theme and it perhaps being perceived as being presumptuous. Pretty postcard scenes are really 'me' and that's why I did and perhaps didn't have my heart in it.
ReplyDeletemaybe i put too much thought in the title of the theme rather than just focusing on places that are "postcard worthy" which pretty much covers everywhere i look here!
ReplyDeleteNice calming image. Richard from the Amish community of Lebanon,Pa
ReplyDeleteQu'y a-t-il de plus beau que les paysages d'eau ?
ReplyDeletePostcard PERFECTION! Even the ripples gave it the serene feeling and it was delivered by your photo! Love it Tanya!

Cosas
Beautiful and peaceful scene.
ReplyDeleteI do not see places like this very often, it is really a beautiful view!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great place to canoe as well as to escape from social obligations, work, and myriad other details. Bet you had lots of fun in your "postcard" setting.
ReplyDeleteThis is sooooo lovely. Picnic?
ReplyDeleteTranquility of a summer's day! Wish I was there, in a little row boat, with a bottle of wine, just cruising in the shade.
ReplyDeletePostcard worthy!
ReplyDeleteI still think that the main idea of photography is to illustrate our memories of places, faces, situations, pages of our life.
Looks like a nice swimmin' hole.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place to wile away a few hot hours on a weekend. :)
What a beautiful spot. I had a hard time with this theme too.
ReplyDeleteHi.. I actually came here to apologize about clicking the "friend request" button on facebook without leaving an explanation. I was trying to find a way to send you a note just to thank you for the comment that you made on Wing-It Photos facebook page about Mark Hubbard because you saved me alot of time and perhaps by the way it sounds, headaches also. Well I tried to tell you this when my fingers got ahead of me and clicked onto the "friend request" instead :-( BUT all of this led me to here and I am REALLY glad it did because I love your blog. It's not only fun to read but I can really appreciate the wonderful photo work! Anyways, what a crazy way to thank you but hey.... whatever works, lol!
