Barn Charm Tuesday

This is the same barn as last week, but I wanted to show you Mr. Longhorn. This was before the Mrs. startled both of us! Texwis Girl tells me she is a Longhorn too, thanks Texwis!

Barn Charm Tuesday

Saturday the boys had a football game over at James River High School. This barn sits near the baseball fields. This cutie was laying on the ground chillin when I walked up to get a picture. Next to her was a very, VERY large long horn bull. When I walked up she jumped up so fast that she startled the bull. I got a quick picture then left, quickly!

I do what I have to do for Tricia and her Barn Charm meme! To see barns from all over the world, click the Barn Charm badge below!

Cabin Days

On Sunday we wound up in Radford for Cabin Days at the Ingles Farm. This farm belonged to William Ingles and Mary Draper and amazingly is still in the family to this day! Cabin Days was a free event with demonstrators, dressed in period clothing, telling stories of life back then.

You can click HERE to read about the Ingles family and Mary's struggle for survival after she was kidnapped by indians.

Watery Wednesday

Sachs Covered Bridge was built in 1852 by David S. Stoner. Part of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia began it's retreat to Virginia by crossing this bridge after the Battle of Gettysburg in July 1863.

Lots of paranormal activity has been reported here. Many believe this is due to its proximity to the battlefield. There is also a story of two Confederate Soldiers who were hanged here for desertion during the retreat from Gettysburg.

Barn Charm Tuesday

Yesterday, Columbus Day, the kids were out of school and we needed to go get some groceries for the house. On the way I decided to stop at the Apple Barn and look inside. The woman who works there asked me if we had been apple picking yet and that we should stop over at the other Apple Barn so the boys could pick apples. So glad we did. Turned out to be fun for all of us and I could cross apples off my shopping list ;)

The Apple Barn, both locations, are located in Troutville.

I'm linking once again with Tricia over @ Barn Charm!
