SkyWatch Friday

(moon with contrails)

This was the "Snow Moon" from Tuesday night. We did see snow on Wednesday, snowed a big part of the morning BUT nothing stuck, not even one little snowflake. Will we ever end up with some snow ON THE GROUND this winter? Although on second thought, I'm actually ready for spring now, so nevermind!

Check out more skies from all over the world by visiting SKYLEY

Have a great weekend....it's supposed to be a cold one here!

  1. I like how the power lines and trees show up in this shot.

  2. thanks anita...those are actually contrails. my house is really tucked into the trees here so i never have a clear shot of sunrises and sunsets :(

  3. This is beautiful Tanya. I never have any luck with moon shots. Yours is lovely.

Supposed to be cold here too for the next few days.

  4. Wow - contrails, huh?! I also thought they were power lines. They really add to the interest of the image, even more so now that I know what they really are. Just Beautiful!

  5. Great job on the moon and the contrails! I don't have a good sky view from my house either.

  7. Tanya, this is a awesome image. you have captured the moon very well, and cleverly used the power of the moon to light up the trees aswell.

  8. Lovely photo Tanya, I think we may be having snow tomorrow in our area. We've had snow before but nothing that really sticks, well maybe for a morning. I'm not complaining though, I'm ready for sping just like you :)

  9. That beautiful snow moon made quite an appearance here! AND brought a bit of snow along with it.

  10. KC has had no snow also and we usually get 40 inches. This weekend we are having temps in single digits. After seeing Halcyon's tulips it is going to be a long weekend.

  11. This is a neat picture. We're getting some snow tonight, and it is sticking. But it is so cold that I doubt we'll get more than a dusting of the white stuff. I, too, am now ready for Spring.
