Train Car in B&W

My bud across the pond, Shaun @ Valleys Shutterbug , suggested black and white on yesterday's photo so here it is, with a little grit added in! Thanks for the suggestion!

  1. Yep, that faded green against the blue sky beyond was a little distracting as compared with the B&W.

  2. Now we are talking. Tanya, this is amazing. I will convert everyone to B&W one day !!!!!
Some photos just look so mush more dramatic this way.

    Awesome work
    Have a pleasant weekend

  4. It could be purple polka dots and I would like it because I am a lover of trains. That is how I traveled back in my youth and college days. I have gotta get to Roanoke to the museum. It has been ages since I have been...at leat12 years. They have done so much with it. Love the car. You really got yourself a great capture. genie

  5. Oh yes, Trains are gritty and dirty anyway. Black & white does it. I have been working on B&W myself lately going beyond the simple "one click" option in the photo program. To really get a good black and white requires a few more uses of the tools available in a photoshop program. I am still experimenting and learning.

  6. Love that shot, Tanya! The B&W does give it a vintage feel...

  7. I don't know, I like the color. The b&w does give it interest. I guess if it were an ugly orange train car, I would like it better in b&w, but I like the green....
