Friday Fences

This is the new fencing around the old cemetery at Greenfield. According to the map I posted with yesterday's post, I'm thinking this is the Gish Cemetery. And looking at the map still, it looks like Preston Cemetery is a little walk from this one. I always stop at this one thinking that there is only this one and another bigger/newer one that sits up on the hill. Time for another walk over to Greenfield for further investigation!

Linking up with Friday Fences !

Have a good and cool weekend! Today is supposed to reach 100 and it's already 87 @ 8:30 in the morning so they aren't lying!

  1. I think that we should have a theme day on fences 'cuz there is so much variety. Love the simplicity of this fence.

  3. I'm a bit late but yesterday's photo was amazing. I love the angle and the tree size in the foreground.

  4. what a cool fence. i'd not want to have it here, however. our ground moves too much to keep those rails in those holes! :)

  6. This is a favorite fence style--especially like the way the rails are joined roughly to the fence posts. Watch out for the heat today if you're out and "around Roanoke"! We hit 103 yesterday in Louisville--more to come today.

  7. you wouldn't find a wooden fence round a cemetery here - they are either stone walls or wrought iron.

  13. I love simple post and rail fences with their slightly wobbly lines.

  14. Tanya. This is the Preston Cemetery. If you keep walking past it on the path through the woods it leads to the Gish Cemetery with headstones that can barely be read and a wire fencing around it.
