Signs, Signs - Coca~Cola Bottling Plant in Lynchburg

Old bottling plant in Lynchburg. Tried to find out when it was built or years in use but couldn't find anything. It makes me crazy that these great old buildings don't have histories that are easy to find.

I did get an answer to what yesterday's building was and updated the post so check it out!

Also, this is a 2 for 1 sign day:

This one is for Birdman!

  1. Great-looking ghost signs! I agree with your comment about trying to find history on these old places - very frustrating. There are several like that in my home town.

  2. That is a cool old brick building - I love vintage coke mages. This one should be turned into lofts or apartments or something. It's too bad it's so difficult to find information.

  13. So much character! (I have the same problem with some old structures here too - you'd think that would've changed in the internet age!)

  14. You're right - it can take a long time to find some history on the old buildings and then you often find nothing! Great old Coke signs on this one!

I know what you mean. When I first moved to where I am now I tried to find some things on a few buildings. Not much out there.

  18. Nice looking building. I also find it frustrating finding information on some of these old architectural gems - even in large cities like Toronto and Hamilton.

  19. I wonder how many Coke "bottling plants" there are now? The drinking of Coke, in spite of all the warnings about how bad it is for your health, remains ubiquitous around the world.

    The Birdman sign is fantastic.

Re your comment on The Villages: Like most things in The Villages, the old ship wreck is fake! :)
