Barn Charm Tuesday - Buchanan Quilt Barn

Buchanan

Interrupting my Pittsburgh slide show to participate in Barn Charm. I didn't see any barns in Pittsburgh (shocking I know lol) but I wanted to share this Quilt Barn with you that I have seen in passing. This last time I actually stopped and made Christian hang out the window and snap a photo!

Tomorrow I will take you back to Pittsburgh!

    2. Good heavens, over three thousand, and many skilled artists are in constant work. I did not know they existed. Nothing like that down here ... not tat I know of anyway. But we do not have a great need for massive barns for animals during severe winters. Instead we have shearing sheds and muster yard sheds. But they are purely working buildings, nothing folksy like your barns.

      Thank you for this ...

  9. That is a very neat barn, Tanya. So glad you managed to snap it this go-round. And, the garden is so handy to the tools which I assume are stored in the barn. Cool.

  13. That's the first quilt barn I've seen from Buchanan. I can't remember any from my childhood, that's very cool. I'll be back in that neck of the woods next week, and I'll keep my eyes open for more. On a different note, my sister and I are going to walk a piece of property under the parkway next week that my grandfather traded a horse for many years ago. Legend has it that the Beale Treasure is buried somewhere in this area. I thought you would enjoy some local lore, if you're not already familiar with the Beale story--check it out. BTW, did you go to Permanti Bros. in Pittsburgh?

  14. This barn looks like the ones common here in Kentucky. I've never seen the quilt square placed that low, though. Nice barn!
