Rubbish Tuesday - Little Chef

Little Chef Restaurant, Williamson Road, Roanoke

Poor Little Chef. Closed down a couple of years ago and now scheduled to be torn down. I've never eaten there but Nick has and he always liked it. We've only lived here since 2008 and it didn't look in this sort of shape. Sad isn't it how a place sits vacant for a while and then just falls apart. Isn't that sign great?! I love it. I wonder if Black Dog Salvage will come and take it. For more on Little Chef and its closing CLICK HERE

  3. That is a great sign and sad that it is going to be torn down. Glad you got the photos though. Thanks for visiting my father-in-law's WWII post. We have all been down to see the WWII Memorial in Bedford. It is a wonderful Memorial. Bedford's history is very poignant too.

  7. The house we are living in had sat vacant with minimal upkeep. The price was good, but we put in lots of work. So sad when body's are left unattended. Fun to think of all the gossip shared in these walls.

  8. It really has started crumbling since it closed. I drive by there taking Cort to his dance classes.

  9. It is a great sign! I can remember when our favourite fish and chip shop was torn down I was 16, it didn't sit empty though, just there one day and gone the next, we were all so sad, out done by the A&W.

  11. Sad to see small business close in this day and age when back when they were the social gathering of the neighborhood/town. But...still such great images shared.

  12. Sad true but Mom-and=Pop establishments find it difficult to compete with big chains.

  15. Definitely love the old sign. Too bad it is being torn down. Probably something generic will take its place. :(

  16. Hi, thank you for visiting me! You live in Raonoke and are a friend of Lisa's..I live in Waynesboro a little over an hour away. I have seen the H&C Coffee Building! Is it across from Taubman? I have not seen the Lttle Chef though.

  17. Funny how quickly places can deteriorate with no one around. I like watching "Life After People" just to see how they theorize things will look. I do like the sign.

  18. That is a great sign! There was a Little Chef in a town near here a long time ago, but I don't think it was a chain of any kind. It was more of a sit at the counter kind of place with a few tables. Love the old building, too. Thanks for linking up!
