This is where we picnicked when we were at Smart View on Sunday. (See yesterday's post). We brought along a big old turkey sub sandwich, some chips and cookies. There is a picnic shelter with picnic tables. Every time I say picnic, I want to sound it out like pic-a-nick as in Yogi "Hey Boo-Boo, I see a pic-a-nick basket" :) ....anyhoo....now on to some random 5's!
1) Would you stay in THIS hotel? I love scary things but I wonder if I would be too chicken? Probably!
2) School starts for the kids on Tuesday...boo....some of you might know I work part time in the cafeteria, yes, I'm a "lunch lady" lol...so I've already put in 2 days this week. A few hours to get the kitchen ready, a couple hours for a safety meeting, then Monday I was volunteered to work 9th grade orientation and then it's back to school for real on Tuesday. Funny, I was a stay at home mom for so many years, up until Braden and Dalton started 1st grade, that's when I started working in the school. It's nice have a routine.
3) Ashlyn heads off to college in a little more than a week. It doesn't seem real. She's been local, going to community college here but now she'll be almost 2 hours away. I told her I won't cry. She said I will.
4) We watched Divergent this week. It was really good. I like Ashley Judd and you know something weird? A couple of weeks ago Nick and I watched Kiss The Girls on tv, with Ashley Judd. There was a guy trying to kill her. The guy who tried to kill her on Kiss The Girls plays her husband on Divergent! How strange right?!
5) Have you seen this:
Haha...Ash and I tried with Ozzy. I gave him a shower 2 days ago and this time Ash wanted to record him. He did much better the second time around. I think he actually liked it. I'll see if I can piece it together to share with you next week!
Have a great weekend!! Now it's your turn!

Wonderful place for a picnic, and the hotel reminds me of the one from The Shining... not sure I would want to spend the night there!
ReplyDeleteOh Tanya you will cry:(:) I did both times:) Nice to have a routine. Ozzy in the shower would be cool to see:) Hug B
ReplyDelete....that's funny....Just yesterday I was reading online about haunted places in Texas and some of course were hotels. And then, to top it off....we watched Along Came a Spider with Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. Kinda eerie.
ReplyDeletethe hubby loves scary stuff. not me ... i am a chicken. i love "Along Came a Spider" with Morgan Freeman ... love Ashley Judd in that. i will send ya some tissues. big big hugs too. ( :
ReplyDeleteI'll skip the hotel. I work in a haunted courthouse and that's enough! I once had a ghostly happening in a hotel in Joplin, MO. No need to risk that again! I can hear Yogi in my head. I liked Yogi and Boo Boo. But oh my, that video! I wish Fergus would take his own showers. It would be much easier on me!
ReplyDeleteNo haunted hotels for me please. Actually, I think the husband and I stayed in one many years ago in the panhandle of FL; I didn't sleep a wink and he heard NOTHING!
ReplyDeleteThe dog in the shower is hilarious. I wish ours would do that; I'd just fill the tub with soap and let them go. Best of luck with Ashlyn leaving you. :0 2 hours is still close enough…well, you know, if there is an emergency it's close enough. So will she be there for 2 years? The lunch ladies were always my favorite people at school!
yup, 2 years...it's actually not even 2 hours...i've made it there in 1.5 if the traffic is in my favor!
DeleteI know that I must have been by smart view but have just missed it some how. Now I know.
ReplyDeleteit's just past mile post 154!
Deletelaughing at the rotti! too cute! good luck with school starting up already! and i don't do scary. too much time spent alone out in the country makes me avoid that stuff. :)
ReplyDeleteAlong Came a Spider is one of my favorites, because of both Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd. I agree that you will cry when your baby goes away, just what we do. I'm with those "chickens" out there....don't like those scary places, and don't like sci-fi.
ReplyDeleteI am OK with the very nice picnic place, not so much with the hotel...
ReplyDeleteSo how is cafeteria food compared to how it was when we were in school?
ReplyDeletei guess it has a little more variety but definitely not healthy like all the hub bub says out there. we serve fries with pizza for goodness sakes, actual FRIED fries! my own kids pack most days if that tells ya anything lol
DeleteIt looks like a pleasant picnic area. Sure, I'd stay at that hotel.
ReplyDeleteI would love to shoot at that old hospital, but stay there...I don't know about that, probably not. Good luck with no crying, I agree with your daughter. I love picnics, we always have great intentions of doing more of them, it just never seems to happen.
ReplyDeleteI, too, was a school cafeteria worker while my boys were little...perfect job for a mom who wants to be home with the kids....you are off before they get out of school and get the same holidays. I was such a great lunch lady that they wouldn't even take my badge when I quit. They told me to come back prn anytime I wanted to. I should post a picture of my badge...I was younger then. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Yogi and Boo-Boo....and Ashley Judd. You have great taste in entertainment.
Yes, I love this beautiful place for a picnic! Wonderful photo!
ReplyDeleteWe love Smart View!
ReplyDeleteYou found a magnificent picnic place. Your cabin yesterday made me swoon!
ReplyDeleteI love the Rottweiler taking a shower so much that I shared it on Facebook! And she has a big smile on her face, too! Lunch Ladies are awesome, and now I am following one!!
ReplyDeleteI like your picnic spot! And I'd have to think about staying in the hotel! Depends on whether I've seen any scary movies prior to visiting there! lol! Thanks for hosting the party!
ReplyDeleteWe often say pik a nik too! We have several picnic spots on the lake nearby. Hard to believe school is back. Wishing you a very nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteTanya, would you check my link. It wasn't linking back to me when I tried it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI like how green it is.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful spot!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you're a lunch lady! Hope the new school year goes smoothly. :)

ReplyDeleteThat sky hovering over that hospital is foreboding enough... Pass!
ReplyDeleteNice place for picnic and beautifull sky.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy these posts and love your photos you include with them. I had not seen the video. So cute!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely cool place for a picnic!
ReplyDeleteHere, school starts a week later. Orientation tomorrow. Like every year, summer break break went way too fast. Only two more years at high school, then my daughter will be off to college as well.
We stayed in a haunted hotel in Jerome, AZ last year, and it was fun because they gave you those meters that are supposed to check for electromagnetic forces and cold spots. My grandson was so "into" the whole thing, and we went on every floor, checking. They played up the ghost aspect of the stay, but frankly I wasn't a bit worried and slept like a baby. I didn't think I would if I ever stayed in a place like that, but somehow I just knew there was nothing evil there to be worried about. Anyway, this place looks really scary! Not sure I'd want to do it again there.
ReplyDeleteYou will cry I am sure when Ashlyn leaves. That's so hard.
Awesome Willy Nilly Friday Five....I have one already ready to post for this week. Have a nice break!
Tanya, I have a post for your Willy-Nilly Friday but did not see the linky to join in. I will look again to see if I can find it.
