Willy Nilly Friday 5 No. 18 - Happy Halloween & A Give-A-Way!

This little lady used to have a twin but one of our dogs Bella didn't like her hanging on the light and attacked!

Now for some Halloween Willy-Nillys!

1) Nick sent me THIS LINK about Halloween in the 70's vs. Halloween today...so funny...so true!

2) Watch a silly SNL Halloween skit HERE

3) Are you brave enough to go through "Virginia's Most Terrifying Haunted House" ? Caution, super creepy and super graphic!

4) CLICK HERE for some real haunted places in the area.

5) Dalton had to write a Halloween story for English. I think it's pretty good. This is what he wrote, I did not correct any errors as I don't think that is my job but up to his teacher: (click story to enlarge)

Welp, that does it for me! And remember I have a give-a-way going on. You can win those great handmade dish rags I posted yesterday, from the little market in Fincastle. To enter, post your 5 randoms, follow me, link back, let me know in the comment section if you want to be entered! I think that is it! I will have Braden and Dalton draw the lucky winner at midnight and will announce on Saturday! Good luck and have a great weekend!

  1. scary tree lady, no wonder Bella attacked her, though her gown looks like something I'd like to wear :-). A budding author in your family, great story Dalton!

  3. We have an old cemetery on the hill above the house with all of the stones knocked down, probably some upset ghosts there, a good place to tell stories but nobody will go up there.

  6. Thank you for hosting this meme. I love the idea of 'random' things. I never was too well organized in my thinking and love surprises. This fits the bill.

  11. NOT A KILLER CLOWN?!? Oh my…that is a good scary story!
I LOL'd at the Halloween from the 70's till today; pretty much dead on correct!
For some reason I wasn't able to see the SNL graveyard song…but I did watch Jim Carrey's opening monologue which made me smile this morning!!! Have a great weekend!

  12. What a great post! Loved the comparison with the 70s and Virginia's most haunted house looks terrifying. Think I'll stick with nice comfortable British ghosts, witches etc - almost time for a cuppa. Dalton's got a bit of talent there! Have a great weekend.

  13. Dalton has a wonderful imagination...or maybe there really is a killer clown out there! Poor, poor Amanda!

  14. Did you ever see the movie [or read the book] by Stephen King "It"? About a killer clown....Dalton's story is awesome and spooktacular!!!

I would love to spend a night in a REAL haunted house once. Of course, that might be the last thing I'd do...so I stay home in closed comfort ...behind MY safe walls. lol

  15. Well no wonder your dog was frightened, that's pretty scary but cool too.
That haunted house was way to creepy for my taste. I don't like "gory" halloween stuff that much.
Enjoyed Dalton's story, quite the imagination.
Of course I'd like to be entered in your give-away.
    Happy Halloween.

  16. GREAT story! He used elements from many different horror movies, but that's OK, he's young. I loved the way it ended, and I think he has talent! The drug test was a nice touch, and I also liked that the police did DNA testing on the doll. Great story!

Awesome Halloween Willy Nilly. That haunted House video was greusome! I wonder how much they pull of in the actual house, but the video reminded me of a movie trailer!

Thanks for bringing back the Randoms...there are always several things I want to share that don't fit anywhere else, and I appreciate this forum. Make sure I'm in on that give-away! :-)
