Election Day

Greenfield Elementary School, Braden and Dalton's old stomping grounds. This is our voting precinct. Here they hold them in the schools. Back in Ca they hold them in peoples' garages. School is out on election day here. We were never out since voting didn't affect the schools. I like voting here. The boys come with me and all the people working the polls are so friendly and let B and D be a part of the voting procedure. It's quite educational for them!

Where do you vote?

  1. We were up at our local high school voting earlier today. Everyone was pretty friendly there also, and in a very happy mood.

  3. Here in Ireland we vote in schools or parish halls.

I love the way you have the option if mailing your vote

  4. In Connecticut it varies where the polling place is located. In the town I live in, Sprague we vote at the town firehouse.

  5. Oh I am not sure about the USA but I have no idea why people in Canada would not vote it is a right that many people fought for and many people around the world never have a chance to do. Hug B

  10. Our normal place to vote is at the middle school. But in Texas we have two weeks of early voting at the city courthouse. Love it.

  11. Town Hall and from my house you can't get any farther away. It's a 20 minute drive. Just about everyone and thing I voted for failed yesterday. Hey, it's America.

  12. I voted early two weeks ago at our community center. On election day, it is held at the Catholic church near my house.

  13. Our precinct is in a neighborhood community center; about 4 minutes from my house. I was so happy that we walked in and didn't wait. Years ago we voted at a church and I'll never forget walking out into the bright sun and tripping over a concrete parking bumper. I took it as a sign from God….

  14. For our recent municipal vote, I went to an advanced poll at one of the university campuses here. Often it's either in a church hall, a community centre, or a school. When I was growing up, the voting spot was at the school I attended, but it didn't mean a day off, it just meant that the gymnasium was not in use for that day for students.

  16. We did mail-in voting. It's much easier on us. I think our voting precinct was at the school nearby also, though.

  17. Cool that the schools are out and the kids can get a voting education, and you are the example. We always vote at the library. And they used to have a nurse giving a flu shot at the same time, how cool is that? I don't know if they still do that, we voted and left.

  18. I can't vote here but Mr LOL goes to the school within walking distance. I have to do postal votes in Hawaii (last place I lived in USA before moving to Coventry).

You're sweet. I am not back to full swing blog wise. I am trying to start doing photos and build on commenting others. That is what takes the time for me but I love doing it.

  19. I wish I had investigated my voting options. :( I didn't vote and sort of regret it... but I am still registered in Mississippi and I'm not sure how it works when you have no "address" there. The next time I'm home, I need to re-register at my parents.
