  4. How fun, especially the little boy and his dog, just happy to be running along! Very interesting name Pearisburg, makes me wonder how in the world did they come up with that spelling? A grove of pears?!

  5. Oh shucks, the name arrives because of a man named George Pearis.

  8. Love seeing those Amish buggies, Tanya. And so great that there is a sign for warning of their being in the area.

  11. I used to come across these buggies when I was riding my bike where I once lived.

  12. What happened when you came up against a large black T-shaped thing in the road? Loved the buggy! Just checked out the post you suggested - fabulous!

  13. Interesting signs. I am guessing the one means there is a right hand turn coming up...maybe the turn is hidden. LOVE the horses and the little boy with the dog coming to meet them. It is perfect Norman Rockwell. Amish ones I bet because I get a glimpse of a straw hat. This would make a beautiful greeting card front!

  14. Very pretty area. That 2nd shot looks like it could have been taken in the 1930s!

  17. That sign indicates the possibility of a pre-20th Century vehicle on the road, and the second shot shows you found one. Looks like a more relaxed way to live.
