Western Hotel
"A destination hotel through the early 1900's, it also served as the Federal Courthouse. The brick building was built after the great fire of 1870 which started in the hotel stable. The earlier hotel was a wooden structure." ...taken from Historic Fincastle ...linking with Signs, Signs

Sunday was a beautiful spring day so I took a walk through Godwin Cemetery in Fincastle. I noticed this old truck, with a fence in front! Linking with Signs, Signs

  6. Fine old court house sign and building. Love the old Chevy pickup. It might be a 1946 or 47. They all looked the same in those post war years. Great finds.

A branch of my family made their way through your area over the years and settled in SW VA. I enjoyed the photo of the government building.

  14. So what is the purpose of this building now? Do they give tours, is it like a museum? It would make a wonderful house for a family.
