The cemetery is a short walk from the house (see Tuesday & Wednesday's posts)
It's quite hot out, nearly 100 degrees but the shade from these trees makes it feel much cooler! We were told though that when this was a working plantation there weren't any trees around...The house sits up on a slight hill so that they were able to see all around the land...amazing how nature takes over when you let it!
I got very excited when I saw the old rock walls!
And even more excited when I saw this magnificent wrought iron gate!
Beautiful...

Hello, I enjoyed this walk to the cemetery. The Bennehan family has a nice resting place, very peaceful. The gate and rock wall are pretty. Wishing you a happy Thursday and weekend ahead!

Trees creep on you. We recently found a pic of our early days atMuldoon and our huge maple was just a twig.
ReplyDeleteThe gate is beautiful! And so are the large rocks in the wall. The trees have really grown, I thought! But then this was so very long ago. Such beautiful shades of green, and welcoming shade. Cemeteries are peaceful and beautiful places to walk.

ReplyDeleteit looks like an old quiet spot, perhaps a cemetery not visited by many!! if you are going to be buried, this looks like a great place, i would want lots of trees!!!

ReplyDeleteIt was 98 degrees yesterday and when I stepped out of the house I went "Oh, it isn't hot!" :-) There was quite a brisk wind, high humidity with some sprinkles now and then, and overcast. No baking sun! I was so happy! Hope you have a wonderful day!
