Barn Charm Tuesday

I had to drive Ashlyn out to Shawsville on Sunday morning and I saw this great old, red barn. You just don't see many painted barns around here for some reason. I really want to get back out there and check out their historical downtown.

To see more barns from all over, visit Tricia, the hostess with the mostest at Bluff Area Daily Photo!

  1. I love the aged red paint. It's neat to look at the construction and see how they've added to them over the years.

  2. Me too I like the red chip paint. I think this is still a working barn and I like how you compose the photo. Thanks for sharing and the visit.

  6. I like your barn shot today. It's weathered and paint eroded look gives it a special appeal. Well done.

  7. Wonderful shot!
Love how the boards are lain both vertically and hortizontally.
Looks like a lot of us like the patina of peeling paint. :)

  9. I've heard that when barns are made of certain wood it's better NOT to paint them. They last longer.

This is a sweet little barn.

  14. Next time you are in Shawsville, look for the red barn on Rt. 11/460 as you head west from Shawsville - at Edge Hill Farm. This is a very old barn and history abounds. Stop in at Edge Hill Farm and talk to the owner.
