Barn Charm Tuesday

Honestly...I didn't know what to do with this picture lol...I was so disappointed. A couple of weeks ago when we went to Cascade Falls there were SO MANY great barns along the way and I just snapped and snapped excitedly knowing that I was adding all these super barns to my "Barn Charm" back up file for those rainy days. Got home and they were awful...super blurry, but then they were drive by's after-all, but I thought they would be spectacular since I had the cam set to "blur reduction" ha! Anyway, I played with this on picmonkey while drinking a glass of wine and this was the best I could do and I hate to be left out on Barn Charm day so there it is, take it or leave it.... BUT we plan to get back in that area soon so this time I'll make the husband S.T.O.P.! in front of the barns!

This barn is somewhere between Botetourt County and Giles County...I lost track!

Go on and check out more barns!

And while posting this I have noticed Blogger changed things around yet AGAIN so my paragraphs are not working so I have to go back and figure out how to make that happen...AGAIN...hopefully they didn't enable word verification this time...if so, please let me know.

  1. I just hate it when my pictures don't turn out! It's always such a disappointment! This one looks like a photo from the depression years though with the effects you added, so it's actually quite nice!

  2. For a picture you were disappointed with, I think it has some great character. I like the rust look it has.

    1. i do love the barn/rust, just wish the picture was better...there's actually 2 barns in this and a little cow...i had to crop so much to try and get some of the blur down, blah!

  3. Aw, don't you hate it when your pictures don't turn out the way you hoped? But, I, too, love this rusty roof - can you imagine being in that barn during a soft, gentle rain?? We'll look forward to pictures from your next trip.
I had to comment, because it seems that, almost every week, I post my Barn Charm pic right after yours!

  4. Ditto. There's a sort of period quality to the picture that lends it a certain, well, charm. :-)

  7. I can relate to blurry pics...just happened to me yesterday on a "driveby". Still you slavaged one..so all was not lost!

  8. Sorry about the outcome on all those barn pictures. I had a group on a heavily overcast day that resisted any improvement and never did look like something I'd like to post. I do hope you get to go back and give it another try.

  9. You did well Tanya! It looks like a vintage photo of a very charming barn. I accidentally switched my lens from auto focus to manual focus one time. Now, before I start shooting, I check the switches on my camera lens every time. No one is perfect. Just try again… don't give up!

  10. The sepia tones give it a nice vintage feel.
I like the little built in ladder to the little loft.
With the tone of the shot and the blur it reminds me of the Wizard of Ox scenes at the beginning of the movie when things are going by in the black and white sequence. Works for me! :)

I know I hate it too when you just *know* you're getting some fabulous shots...until you download them onto the computer! LOL!!

  16. Looks like a fairly large barn!

Sometimes we have to work with what we have. Maybe you'll get another change to photograph it some day.
