Anne Spencer House - II

Anne Spencer House, Lynchburg

I'm late today..."I'm late, I'm late, for a very important date"....not really but that song just crept into my head...anyways...I wanted to show you this super ingenious idea that Miss Spencer's granddaughter came up with to hide the air conditioning unit. That's her grandpa's old car and she had it cut down to cover it all up. Isn't that brilliant?! Yes, I thought so too! Extreme repurposing for sure!

Linking with Rubbish Tuesday ....more garden photos tomorrow!

  1. That was a Ford model A coupe or roadster with V8 ford wheels.

  2. That might be a Model B Ford rear end. I'm not at all sure about cutting this car down to hide an AC unit. Were that car restored, it would be fantastic, and since it was their grandfather's car, it would be even better. These cars are not difficult to restore as all parts are available.

  7. That is so creative! Was the granddaughter that you talked to named Shawn? I think I remember reading that she was doing a lot with the house and wrote a play about her grandmother.

    1. Yes, that was her! She was so kind and came out on the front porch and spoke with us. She was busy getting the house ready for the garden tour that was held today but she didn't even act like we were bothering her one bit. She answered all our questions and even shared more history of her family with us. She is one of those people that you could sit and talk to for hours! I didn't know that about the play...I'll have to see. I do know that she answers all emails personally so if anyone has more questions be sure to visit the website and click "contact" and that is her!
