Rubbish Tuesday - The Patrick Henry

The Patrick Henry was once a swanky hotel, now it is being turned into fancy apartments and commercial space. We stopped by one day during the summer while we were walking around downtown and tried to get in thinking there was a restaurant inside but all the doors were locked. So I don't really know if anything is open yet or not. Their WEBSITE is not very informative or even useful but their Facebook Page is pretty interactive. Still clueless though about what is inside and open to Joe Public. I did see THIS STORY about a restaurant to open soon-ish. There's also haunted stories about the Patrick Henry you can READ HERE

The Patrick Henry is located at 611 Jefferson Street in Roanoke.

I am linking with Roan's Rubbish Tuesday...click on over to see lots of other neat old stuff!

  3. I remember strolling through the lobby when it was still, as you say, a "swanky hotel". It really is a landmark.

  4. I thought that there was a restaurant in there, it must have gone out already and another is coming. They have destroyed all of the parking that used to be around the restaurants so that they are dependent on people parking in lots and garages much of the time and walking to the restaurant. Some do it but they have eliminated much of the walk-in business that they seem to underestimate. So much of it is taxpayer financed and then it fails when that stops.

  5. Beautiful architecture. Great windows. I enjoy reading all the ghost stories. We have ghosts in the courthouse where I work. They are noisy ghosts. When I go in early I'm all alone, so I pop in my ear buds and listen to music so I can't hear them. Otherwise I have to leave. Thanks for linking up!

  6. It does look a rather gorgeous building to have an apartment in, they should send you an invite to their grand opening party, then you could update us all!
