Monday Murals - Open Studios Tour

A couple of weeks ago we went on the Open Studios Tour around Botetourt. One of our stops was the studio space of Ed Bordett which is housed inside of this 1930's dealership building:

Here is a piece he is working on:
This is an historical home not too far from his studio. I will show you what the old house looks like tomorrow.
Mr. Bordett's studio is located at 5 East Main Street in Fincastle. You can visit his website HERE

  7. Looks like he is a photo realist painter. Love the old Oldsmobile sign, now highly collectable as it is an orphan car brand.

  8. The studio is a picture within itself. How an artist would love to work in a place like that.

  9. The painting is great! It actually looks more like a photo than a painting, very realistic!

  13. Ed is a fun guy, the last time that I saw him was when he brought a couple antique dulcimers to our exhibit last summer. Lots of stories if you get a chance to talk with him.

  17. I really like the house-in-progress. My artistic tastes run toward the realistic.

There are studio tours in both Hartford and Naples, but it seems that they are always scheduled for a time when I am not free. I have begun to wonder if they are trying to avoid me.
