Ashlyn ran into her friend Officer Conley...

Then she ran into her almost-brother-in-law (the brother of her boyfriend of more than 3 years) who is a Marching Royal Duke...

Got our seats and signs and we are ready!

Willy Nilly Friday 5 No. 58 - JMU Homecoming/ESPN Gameday Edition

Yes, this photo might look familiar to some because I used it HERE back in May but it is the only pic I have that features JMU's name! For now!
Saturday is James Madison University's Homecoming game. Most of you, or some of you know that Ashlyn is in her senior year there. I'm so excited that we are attending Saturday's game and they were chosen for ESPN's College Gameday sooooo my Willy Nilly is going to be all about that bass game day stuff!

1) First things first...on a serious note...I, like others that knew him, either personally or through our blogs, am missing our Birdman ...he always made me laugh with his witty comments or triggered a memory with his blog posts...Rest In Peace Birdman...you are missed by so many...

2) Quad Talk from The Breeze (funny that this is the name of their newspaper when that is our last name!)

3) Newsworthy!

4)
JMU Tweets about Gameday!

5)
A picture Ashlyn tweeted...JMU is playing the Richmond Spiders

Well that's it for me this week! I hope to have lots of pictures and talk of a JMU victory for Monday!! Now it is your turn...post 5 randoms, link up and visit others!! Have a great weekend!! Look for us on ESPN ;)

Dogs & Elvis Love The Roanoke Go Outside Festival

Continued from Monday....the Outdoor Festival is dog friendly...yay!

Is that Spuds MacKenzie?

Elvis is alive and well in Roanoke, Virginia

Let's go!

This one was a little apprehensive about jumping, but did it in the end!

I would love to bring Ozzy but I can see it now, he would be pulling me all over the place...I hate to admit it but he's not so well behaved at times but that's ok because I love him to pieces!

Through My Lens - Roanoke Go Outside Festival

Continued from yesterday...
The boys had fun climbing the rock wall...

They also had fun on this bike race simulator....can you believe they each scored the exact same time?

It was fun watching this guy cross the pool on a tight rope...

Ooops...

Have you ever seen a tent like this? I haven't!

The hammock display was very popular..mostly among kids swinging in them ;)

The object of the Go Outside Fest is to get people outside and live a healthier & active lifestyle. Stop being a couch potato because there is so much fun to be had outdoors! Linking with Through My Lens ...Now go outside and do something fun!

#Swurfer

I saw this old bus at the Roanoke Go Outside Festival on Sunday. We've been almost every year since the beginning, I think we missed 1. The first time they held the festival there was hardly anything going on, you can see that HERE and it was then called the Roanoke Outdoor Circus...it has sure gotten bigger over the past few years! See 2013 HERE and 2014 HERE

What's a "Swurfer" you might be wondering? Check it out HERE. Looks fun!

Willy Nilly Friday 5 No. 57

Read Mountain Starz vs Central Academy Patriots @ Central Academy Middle School . Fincastle

Today, Thursday, these 2 guys had their last middle school football game. # 16 & 18. I was upset, showed up a half hour late. Game was supposed to start at 5. Got there and it had started at 4:30...some knew, most didn't. Our schedules said 5 but the lady at the gate taking our money said they changed it last month. Mass confusion....so anyways, Central Academy is our rival, same county. There's 2 middle schools here in Botetourt County, Read Mountain (us) and Central Academy (them)...we won, 26-0. Way to end the season. The boys have to ride the bus back to school as a team. I met them there. Braden came out after changing and I asked where Dalton was and Braden tells me he went to run 1 more hill, 1 last time....I was half sad about this momentous occasion (football game) but held it together but seeing him run a last hill with a few football buddies made me so sad. I have found that with these two boys, lasts truly are lasts. With Ashlyn and Christian I always knew I had two more to enjoy one more time with, but these 2 are my "one more time"...I'm feeling a bit sappy tonight so.....I'll take you through Braden and Dalton's football years for my Willy Nilly:

1)
This was in Georgia. We had just picked up their gear for their first year of football. The year is 2007. Obviously they were pretty pumped to try it all on!

2)
Same year as above but ready for a game! Our first team, Walton County Bengals!

3)
Our first team here in Virginia, The Bulldogs...2008

4)
We've been on the Panthers a few times so this might have been about 4th grade?

5)
Last year of rec football, 6th grade....next stop high school football....not a clue where the time has gone....so that's my randoms this go round...it's your turn! Post 5 randoms, link back and visit others! Have fun and have a great weekend!!

If you still want to see more football pics, of these two little guys or Christian, just type "football" in the search bar up top, you might remember some of these!

Signs, Signs & A Good Fence @ Jeter Farm

Jeter Farm . Roanoke

I left without getting a pumpkin. You get a free little pumpkin with your paid entry but it looked like they had all been picked over. I had planned on getting a couple of pumpkins from the pile above but the boys were thirsty and ready to leave and I was pretty easily talked into going home. I stalked that dog there trying to get his picture but he didn't like me I guess. Kept ignoring me.
