Good Fences - Back To Kincer's

Webster Road . Blue Ridge . Botetourt County

Remember Kincer's Grocery sign from LAST WEEK? Well Monday I had to run a few errands and I took Webster Road planning to get a picture of the "grocery store" building but there was so much snow on the side of the road and that building sits much closer to the road so hard to get a picture. This little house is somehow associated with the little grocery store...I saw it documented somewhere. I like the little gate in front. Soon I'll get a picture of the actual store...you can kind of see it to the right of the house, like they are connected.

Linking with Tex's Good Fences

P.S. Our snow is melting quickly...warm days but icy cold nights are making everything that melted freeze again. School was back in session on Wednesday but with a 2 hour delay and another 2 hour delay for Thursday. Supposed to be almost 60 on Sunday...now that I've had my snow fix I am ready for spring! Too soon? ;)

  1. This little building looks so cute covered in snow.
Up to the 60s? Hope you don't have a flood with all the melted snow!

  2. I am trying to remember that area, I think the tracks are behind it? I hunted glass insulators near there on the old western union pole line that was taken down in the 50s. Anyway I think the narrow road through there was actually the original turnpike and a lot of the houses like in your photo look like they date from the early 1800s. Neat little crooked trail.

  4. So is that about 16C Tanya? That's my kind of day :) Not as it is right now hot, humid and in the high 30's! I often wonder about where all the water goes from the mountains of snow you get!

  11. My idea of a 'snow fix' is to view it on OTHER peoples' blogs as I sit in the warm subtropical temps. Or indoors even. lol

Love the little house and its gate/fence.

    NEVER too early for Spring.

  15. The warm temperature (60°) should go a long way to melt that snow!

  16. I'd say that's kind of connected. I like that gate peeking out of the snow...

  19. Well that little gate is charming for sure buried under all that snow.

  20. Looking at the gate you can see how deep that snow is. Goodness!

  21. That wee gate looks about buried in the snow. But a little warmth will make it open much easier. I can't see a fence, though, so wonder if the gate is purely ornamental.

  22. Great photo! And my snow is melting fast too. Next week they're saying we'll reach 52 (which is unheard of for Connecticut in February).
