That was a dreadful fire and people must have been thankful no one was seriously hurt. Enjoyed the photos and your post Tanya.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely neoclassical architecture. It looks like it came from the 18th Century rather than the 19th. They did a good job of rebuilding after the fire. Still looks wintery out in your neck of the woods. All that snow lying around made me shiver. All the best, Bonny
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they ever determined how the fire got started.

ReplyDeleteInteresting history from the sign. Like the balustrade on the walkway too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a loss. It is amazing that the worst injury was a sprained ankle. What a beautiful building.
ReplyDeletePretty campus, interesting history!
ReplyDeleteLovely campus!
ReplyDeleteSuch a shame it had to burn. But the remaining is so beautiful and love the fact of the history of it all.
ReplyDeleteIt is beautiful Tanya! So awful about the fire though. Zeta Tau Alpha is my sorority, but I didn't realize that there were three others founded there too. How interesting!
ReplyDeletegreat architecture
ReplyDeleteI do like the architecture here. Sororities and fraternities don't seem to have the same presence on campuses here.

ReplyDeleteGreat brick buildings. Visiting from fences and signs!
ReplyDeleteThe buildings are very impressive. The fire that engulfed the building was very sad and it was a miracle nobody was killed. A great story, thanks for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteTo be one of the first sororities in the South must have been quite exciting. I liked the nice buildings on the campus.
ReplyDeleteHave a Beautiful Day, Tanya!
Peace :)
