Rooftops

Downtown Roanoke

"It's a crack, I'm back yeah standing
On the rooftops shouting out,
Baby I'm ready to go
I'm back and ready to go
From the rooftops shout it out....."

If I say the word "rooftops" I start singing this song in my head instantly haha

Today I am thankful for the older generation with stories to tell! On Tuesday I worked the polls and was at the ballot station with another lady. We had a lot of time together and she told me so much about the history of our county, Botetourt...her great grandparents settled here and it was so interesting to just listen to her tell me about the early days and the original families here! Listen up to these people, they have so much to share!

Linking up with Michelle's Thankful Thursday

Have a great day!

  1. The older generation, in my community, is so full of knowledge. Amazing the history of everyday life you can learn when you take a moment to listen! Thanks for linking up today and have a great weekend!

  2. Great perspective! I used to wonder why there were a good number of people working polls when I voted, until I did the job myself and realized there's a lot of work that goes into it.

  4. These buildings so much remind me of Staunton. I have never heard this song, but I do like it, especially the bridge. YES, these stories keep history alive. But it seems we don't really appreciate them till we get a bit older.
