Roanoke Typewriter Sales Co.

321 Campbell Ave SE . Roanoke

Yep, permanently closed. I’m thankful that I grew up in a time when me and my friends all wanted typewriters for Christmas and could not wait until we could take typing class in Jr. High…things were just so much simpler then!

  1. ...my wife still has an IBM electric! I took typing in high school too. I think today they might teach keyboarding! Thanks Tanya for taking us down memory lane!

  2. I can't recall the last time I saw a typewriter.

  3. Typewriters are now antique collectables. Received my first typewriter as a gift when I finished my master's degree, but didn't learn to type until I had to write my dissertation. Now I have friends who collect them.

  4. I remember writing my term paper on a typewriter. Wonder if anything will ever move into this building...maybe computer repair.
