Willy Nilly Friday 5 Number 7 @ Smart View Picnic Area

This is where we picnicked when we were at Smart View on Sunday. (See yesterday's post). We brought along a big old turkey sub sandwich, some chips and cookies. There is a picnic shelter with picnic tables. Every time I say picnic, I want to sound it out like pic-a-nick as in Yogi "Hey Boo-Boo, I see a pic-a-nick basket" :) ....anyhoo....now on to some random 5's!

1) Would you stay in THIS hotel? I love scary things but I wonder if I would be too chicken? Probably!

2) School starts for the kids on Tuesday...boo....some of you might know I work part time in the cafeteria, yes, I'm a "lunch lady" lol...so I've already put in 2 days this week. A few hours to get the kitchen ready, a couple hours for a safety meeting, then Monday I was volunteered to work 9th grade orientation and then it's back to school for real on Tuesday. Funny, I was a stay at home mom for so many years, up until Braden and Dalton started 1st grade, that's when I started working in the school. It's nice have a routine.

3) Ashlyn heads off to college in a little more than a week. It doesn't seem real. She's been local, going to community college here but now she'll be almost 2 hours away. I told her I won't cry. She said I will.

4) We watched Divergent this week. It was really good. I like Ashley Judd and you know something weird? A couple of weeks ago Nick and I watched Kiss The Girls on tv, with Ashley Judd. There was a guy trying to kill her. The guy who tried to kill her on Kiss The Girls plays her husband on Divergent! How strange right?!

5) Have you seen this:

Haha...Ash and I tried with Ozzy. I gave him a shower 2 days ago and this time Ash wanted to record him. He did much better the second time around. I think he actually liked it. I'll see if I can piece it together to share with you next week!

Have a great weekend!! Now it's your turn!

Ruby Tuesday - Ozzy and Snow

Ozzy spies something "ruby" in the snow. I don't know what that is....looks like someone forgot their jacket. I've kinda got snow burnout. Today is supposed to warm up to nearly 60. I can't imagine the mess of mud that awaits under this heap of snow though! The boys have a basketball game tonight. It will be exciting to say the least. The last time we played this team, it got kind of heated. I will behave though and just take pics ;)

SkyWatch Friday & Random 5 - Etzler Road

Heading home, down Etzler Rd, Troutville. It still pretty much looks like this out. Out of school Tues, Wed, and Thursday for snow days because of icy roads. Right now it's 6 degrees out. School is operating on a 2 hour delay. I don't understand what they think will change in 2 hours. I'm waiting on my call that they've gone ahead and changed it to closed. A bus driver was in Kroger last night saying how his route is still icy and he doesn't want to drive it. Sometimes I wonder how they come to these closing/delay conclusions.

SkyWatch Friday

Now some randoms:

1) If you love dogs like I do, go visit Landfill Dogs...a photographer has taken beautiful photos of shelter dogs.

2) I have to wake the boys up shortly but I'm still waiting on that call that they closed school. Last time it was this cold, school was closed. And we didn't even have ice then. I heard it was because the busses won't start when it is this cold.

3) I just recently started watching Medium on Neflix. I liked it when it was still on tv but rarely caught it. And I really like Patricia Arquette and her easy going personality.

4) I'm making Drunken Noodles tonight for dinner. I saw the recipe on Pinterest the other day and it looks amazing! Hope it turns out at yummy as it looks. You can see the recipe HERE

5) And now for your dose of stupid for the day...Hiker Being Rescued. This fool, along with his fool friends decided it was a good idea to go hiking in sub zero weather this morning and now have to be rescued. I hope they are fined. Now rescue crews have to get out there in this cold weather to save his dumb butt. Can't fix stupid.

Have a great weekend and keep warm!!

Rurality Wednesday - Breckinridge Mill Road

An old house along Breckinridge Mill Rd, Fincastle.

The snow I showed you yesterday mostly melted by the afternoon but then another band of snow came along and left a couple of more inches. With the below freezing temps overnight, and our high of only 18 today, the snow will not be going anywhere. School was cancelled again. Happy, happy, happy, but we won't be all that happy when we have to make these days up! I guess we'll worry about that when the time comes ;)

And this is my front yard today:

And a bonus of Ozzy because he just loves the snow! Here he is catching snowballs!

Rurality Blog Hop #47

For the very first time I am linking with ABC Wednesday today. I have always wanted to play along but forget every single week. This time I have a picture, by chance to go with B...for Breckinridge! Hopefully I'll remember next week :)
