June Theme Day-Corner Store
June's Theme Day is the "Corner Store". I didn't even realize today was the first of June when I went to post a picture this morning! I forgot all about the theme day and had another picture ready to post. Unfortunately, having not planned ahead, my husband is out of town with my camera so I had to dig through my small amount of archived photos and found this one of the Piggly Wiggly located in Monroe. Hopefully I'll plan better for next months theme! The Piggly Wiggly has a fun website though that has recipes and other neat stuff, check it outHERE!

I amn't sure to well understand what does this name mean, but it sounds well!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have Piggly Wiggly's in our area long time ago when I was a kid, but they are no more. Glad to see they are elsewhere!

I remember this name from one of your very forst posts. It made me laugh then and it still does now. You have to wonder how it translates in no english speaking countries. ice to see the bike there too. My islenad is now crammed full of them.
ReplyDeleteTanya, I always smile when I see or hear the name Piggly-Wiggly. There is one of these stores in Puyallup, Washington, where my aunt used to live about 30 miles south of Seattle. Nice recovery for theme day. Thanks for stopping by and leaving your comment. Ace IS the place, for sure :)
ReplyDeleteNice save. As a born and bred Mid-westerner who lived for a few years in Florida as a child, Piggly-Wiggly's have always seemed to me quintessentially Southern.
ReplyDeleteOh, Piggly Wiggly. We used to have them here, but they're gone now.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments on my blog. I used to have a bunch of customers from Georgia. You would have liked my store, I think, as I see you're into genealogy.
Y'all still have Piggly Wiggly? I remember them from years ago.
ReplyDeleteCute name for a store.
ReplyDeleteWe have a Piggly Wiggly up near Norris, but Kroger is the big gorilla chain in Knoxville.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to a PW (I lived in the US for over a decade), but I heard about them from friends who were from the South. The name always got to me. Hee!
ReplyDeleteI just love this name.
ReplyDeletePiggly Wiggly
ReplyDeletewhat a name
you couldn't have planned a better one!
I love the name too. I've heard them referred to, but I haven't seen them in California. It seems to suggest that if you want to shop for bacon, you have to go in and catch the greased pig yourself!
ReplyDeleteWe have three Piggly Wiggly's in our county (Haralson) I had no idea they had a website. People around here call it "The Pig"
ReplyDeleteLuck you had a shop photo in your archive! I've never heard of this store before but now I'm loving Piggly Wiggly! I liked the link to their website too!
ReplyDeleteThe piggly wiggly store sounds fun groceries!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by at Vienna Daily. Happy Theme Day!
Nice photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for link to their website, otherwise I thought it is a meat place (Butcher).
ReplyDeleteThe irony of course is that this is probably most people's corner store in this age of fast living.
ReplyDeletePosted your "favorite store" with link to your blog in a piece in our blog, Natural~Specialty Foods Memo."

The post is at or near the top of the blog.
Keep up the great work!
Best Regards.
Nice picture. I really like the name Piggly Wiggly, it made me laugh. :)
ReplyDeleteI get such a kick out of their name! We don't have them around here, so the first time we traveled South, it came as a surprise and made us laugh! ;-)
ReplyDelete"Louis" says 'Oh, my! A Piggly Wiggly!' "Louis" hasn't seen a Piggly Wiggly in years. There were some in the Texas Panhandle when "Louis" was growing up, but they are long gone now...
ReplyDeleteYou are very resourceful Tanya ;)Well, thanks for introducing me to Piggly Wiggly. I had never heard of it before.
ReplyDeletePiggly Wiggly c'est comme un petit centre commercial ?
ReplyDeletePiggly Wiggly is like a small shopping mall?
Good to know it wasn't just me that forgot until the day about the theme day! I will be more prepared if you are :-)
