Ashlyn gets a "hands on" lesson while Christian listens. They were both surprised at how heavy that gun is!

  4. She's tiny but she's strong, isn't she? This is a great "shot", Tanya.

  5. Reenactments are a great way to make history come alive, but there is also a need to be careful. In the 1970's I used to work for the Congressman in whose district Antietam Battlefield is located. During a reenactment one of the soldiers forgot to take the ramrod out of the barrel of his musket. The ramrod when flying right over the crowd of spectators, fortunately missing everyone.

  7. Old guns were really long!
The whole series of the battle of Buchanan is very interesting. (We have also 'reconstruction groups', but there aren't any important historical battles near my home...)
