Watery Wednesday
(Ozzy swimming @ our spot on Craig Creek)
Today is the first day of school for kids here in Botetourt County. This school year I have 2 4th graders, a freshman and a senior. Ashlyn likes to keep reminding me that today will be her last first day of school, ack!
Ozzy will be one sad and lonely puppy today. He just loves having all the kids around. He's going to wonder what happened.
Yesterday we had an earthquake here. I was surprised. I grew up with earthquakes and as it was happening I was thinking, wow, this feels like an earthquake but it can't be! Ozzy was chasing the boys through the house just at that time so I thought they were making the floors shake. Then my neighbor called, who is also a California transplant, to ask me if I felt that! We had a nice convo talking about the earthquake and quakes we have experienced in Ca. All is well here though, nothing shook off shelfs or anything like that and it was over before you knew it. Thanks for checking in on us over here :)
Today I am linking once again to Watery Wednesday...go on and have a visit and see some more water shots!
As for the coolness of fall, your teeth are chattering from the earthquake, I do believe. hahahaha
ReplyDeleteNew follower here! Looks like Ozzy's about to have a great time ;-)
ReplyDeleteSure wish we had nice weather here in Texas. It's hard to get my dogs out for exercise when it's still 90F at night...
I enjoy your blog!

ReplyDeleteA fine watery Wednesday shot. Your account of the earthquake was interesting. There was also one in Colorado, but that one didn't make the news at all! :-)
ReplyDeleteAhh, a last first day... I drive school bus, I bid my route and bus today about 14:00 PDT...I'm looking forward to seeing my students... the first day is exciting for them and me... I hear you have a little 'shaker' yesterday... hope you and yours faired well.
ReplyDeleteGlad you all weren't too affected by the earthquake! It's funny, I made a comment on another blog that sometimes I think we're having an earthquake, but it's just the kids thundering through the house. ;-)
ReplyDeletehi Tanya! ReplyDeleteGlad to hear all's well after the quake. As for Ozzy I'm sure he will dream of the kids while catching up on his naps.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable post, and Ozzie is a very cute dog. It always seemed quiet around the house the first day of school. We felt the earthquake here in Fairfax County. Our house rattled for about 30 seconds. I lived in California for several years and knew that feeling very well.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day!
ReplyDeleteWatery Wednesday at my page, please come and see. Have a wonderful day!
