A Cold Monday
Nothing exciting to show you today. I just came back inside after wandering around the yard in the freezing cold looking for something of interest and spring like to take a picture of. It's so cold that I only lasted a few minutes before I finally just settled on the geese and Bucky. Bucky's really gotten quite used to them being around. I noticed the ducks have come back to the pond and the geese don't seem very happy about it. They were honking at them and spreading their wings earlier this morning, then they just wandered out to the pasture.
It's been snowing non-stop since yesterday. Nothing has stuck, guess the conditions aren't right, but there's been little snowflakes just floating around in the air.
Haven't been anywhere really to take pictures except the grocery store and went up there on Saturday and I could have kicked myself for forgetting my camera. There was a guy sitting out in front, playing a guitar and singing. He had his guitar case opened for tips I'm assuming and I was so bummed that I didn't have a camera for the moment. It's just not something you see everyday here in Botetourt County, Virginia! It was pretty cool though, I hope he does it more often!
Did you watch the Academy Awards last night? Happy with the winners? I haven't seen most of the movies that won. I would have liked to have seen Mickey Rourke win. Was happy with Kate Winslet's win, I really like her.

I watched the Oscars to a large part! Was also happy for Kate W!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you raced back into the warm house! I hope that you have a big mug of hot cocoa to go with your cold Monday!
ReplyDeleteNot hot cocoa, but nice hot coffee, strong hot coffee lol...lots of picking up to do around here today!
ReplyDeletePicture looks pretty bleak.
ReplyDeleteLOL Martin, it does doesn't it?! It feels pretty bleak around here too!
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty cold around here (Tennessee) as well. I need to get out and do some yard work, but it's hard with the wind blowing.
ReplyDeleteje suis d'accord avec toi, j'aurais bien aimé que ce soit Mickey Rourke gagne l'oscar, mais Sean Penn n'est pas un mauvais choix
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I would have liked either Mickey Rourke won the Oscar, but Sean Penn is not a bad choice
Hi Tanya.... I haven't been anywhere to take photos either... haven't even stepped out of my house in about 4 days as I'm still fighting this dang cold.... still taking lots of naps in between blogging... I'm ready for warm weather!
ReplyDeleteDi
The Blue Ridge Gal
Oh Ducks & a horsey!
ReplyDeleteI like Micky Rourke too - I just watched a deal on Biography about him yesterday! I like Kate too!
They are still hanging around! I'm sure you will appreciate the Spring when it finally arrives.
ReplyDeleteNice scene. I can feel the fresh air :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting Gliwice Daily Photo.
Greetings from Poland!
Your right! It is also darn cold up here in PA. Haven't been out of our house, yet! It's also very windy! Waiting for Spring to arrive! I can sure do without this cold. Makes the ole' bones creak!
ReplyDeleteThe scene is exciting enough for me!
ReplyDeleteI watched...I haven't seen any of the movies yet though, so it was hard to feel passionate about who would win. They're all in my Netflix queue--by this time next year I should be in the know...oh wait, there's a flaw there. :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I enjoyed the dresses, felt sorry for Jennifer Aniston, and bored with seeing Mylie Cyrus. That's my Oscar wrap-up.
I hope the ducks hold their ground and don't let the geese chase them off.
It LOOKS cold...stay warm.
ReplyDeleteTanya, this is such a lovely scene for me. I'm in an urban jungle and anything with wide open spaces, greenery and animals is wonderful to my eyes. So if all you have to post is your yard and pasture, go for it! And never apologize. It may be ordinary to you, but a big blessing to me.
ReplyDeleteThe stonger the better when it comes to a good cup of mud!
ReplyDeleteAnimals are always nice to take a pic of. And you live in a lovely place, so just post some more of Bucky and friends.
ReplyDeleteRoll on the spring! Bucky seem to be staring straight at you.
ReplyDeleteHi Tanya, I love the photo. We are getting lots of sunshine here in Newport News, but cold temp. I am ready for spring! You sound like me in not having the camera with you when want one. We only have the Cannon si5 which is to big to carry around in my purse. I keep thinking I need to buy a small one but that takes $$$.
ReplyDeleteAnyway I hope you enjoy your day
