Signs Of Spring I
The cold snap has finished for the week bringing nicer temps, around 50 (about 10 celsius). I have been seeing signs of spring around the yard. My grass is getting greener and little green things popping up out of the ground. Several of my shrubs have even gotten buds on them! The picture above is "I think" a lilac bush. I can't really remember what it looked like in the summer when we moved in and my neighbor walked with me naming everything for me, which I should have written down. I'll need her to give me another tour. I don't know if you remember, but her mother-in-law owned the house from the 40's through the 90's and many of the plants around the house were planted by her. Look at all those buds on the stems and if you look beyond the lilac bush, into the sunlight, you can see how my yard is turning green!
I am keeping Braden and Dalton home one more day. They improved somewhat yesterday but still aren't 100% better. They barely ate yesterday, just a small amount of soup and a couple of popsicles. I think one more day of rest will do them wonders.
Last but not least, go visit
Country Girl because she is having a super cool give-a-way! Leave a comment on her blog to win a beautiful photo!
Have a great day! :)

ReplyDeletebientôt le printemps, mais j'aimerais encore un peu de neige pour finir ma série Evry sous la neige ;o))
ReplyDeletesoon the spring, but I would like some more snow to finish my series Evry under snow ;o))
Great news about spring on the way for you Tanya. Our temperatures feel like autumn will be here soon. Days here are getting shorter and nights are getting longer and cooler. We are reasonably happy about that. - Dave
ReplyDeleteSometimes name of the plant is obvious in one season, but not in another. So guided tours are needed in every season :)
ReplyDeleteSlowly but urely Srping comes into play again. Even though this happens without fail every year the excitement remains just as high each year.
ReplyDeleteI was shocked last year to see tulips popping up right and left! I had totally forgotten that I had planted bulbs!
ReplyDeleteHow nice for the family of the previous owner to have you and your family now filling the house. Glad to hear the boys are feeling better. Hope they are all cured by tomorrow. As for spring, please post every little sign. I will look at it with longing.
ReplyDeleteAren't these spring signs just great? Here it looks like an early summer now! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad to know the twins feel better today.
You're a little further ahead than we are, but we're still starting to get little hints that spring is coming. Yeah!!!
ReplyDeleteHope the day of rest sees the boys back to normal tomorrow.
Nice to hear the kids are better! I'm seeing sprouts in my yard too and can't wait for spring! I had a flock of robins in my yard over the weekend but couldn't get a good picture.
ReplyDeleteWow, Tanya, I don't think I've ever seen a shot of the outside of your home. Beautiful! And so neat your neighbor has so much hands-on knowledge about the property.
ReplyDeleteI noticed yesterday the one tree in our yard that sheds leaves has big, swollen buds on it. Spring is coming, only 3 1/2 weeks!
Oh! I can't wait until Spring gets here. I think we only have 22 more days until spring. I hope the boys are feeling better, and soup is always what I want when I am sick.
ReplyDeleteI hope the boys are better. Whatever it is is a nasty bug.
ReplyDelete*shakes off effects of last night's Nyquil* Huh... spring you say? I feel like a groundhog that can't wake up....

Oh my! 50 degrees sounds cold to me! But spring is on the way. Glad your boys are improving.
ReplyDeletesorry bout the rude anonymous blogger at my site. Most New Yorkers have some manners....
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tanya!
ReplyDeleteThere is one patch in my yard that has green grass. I'm so excited for spring to get here.
Hey, looks like a spammer hit you in that first comment. Dontcha hate when that happens?
ReplyDeleteHey Country Girl, fortunately I don't get many spammers but have been meaning to delete this one all day,lol....thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteYour weather there is very much like ours here - same temps and spring starting to spring.
ReplyDeleteIf this bush has long clusters of purple flowers next month then its a lilac, otherwise I'm not sure!
Glad the boys are on the mend.
Aw, poor babies. Well, at least they have each other for company when they're sick! Glad they're on the mend.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting buds around here too.
It's great that you have the former owner's relative to share the scoop about your house and yard!
Spring is springing into actions at last. Very optimistic image.
