Signs, Signs - On The Rise

On The Rise Bread Company
303 Market Street SE
Roanoke, VA 24011

"We have fresh traditional European style bread baked daily, plus subs, paninis, soups, salads, pizza, and sweets, that are all made in house as well!"

We stopped there to grab some bread to go with dinner after the St. Patrick's Fest but they had already closed for the day.

  10. Is there anything more tantalizing than fresh bread baking? I'd love to have a local bakery where I live. On the boat, we make our own, the old fashioned way. Kneading for a count of 200, letting it double rise, and then wolfing down fresh, warm crusts as soon as we can slice it. Yummy.

  14. Nothing like the smell in there, I made French bread at home the other day and the house smelled great what with the wood heat and fresh bread.
