I'm back! I took an improptu blogging break last week. We were on spring break and I had fun things planned to do with the boys. Well Braden ended up sick for the first half, nothing major, just a terrible sore throat and really no energy...then my computer monitor went black. I had read on something that Windows updates will go in and automatically change your monitor settings to make it sleep...I unplugged it for a while and when I turned it back on it worked, sketchily but enough that I could get into the settings and it was set to sleep after 20 minutes so following the advice I read I switched it to never. But now I'm afraid to turn it off! It has been on since Friday...computer gurus, is it ok to let your monitor just stay on and on and on?
Happy Monday!

Lovely old house, nothing better than springtime.
ReplyDeleteI like all breaks
ReplyDeletefunny how life works out ... glad to hear he is feeling better once again. have a fabulous week! spring is here. i think??! ( :
ReplyDeleteWe stay constantly at the mercy of technology. Mine? It never goes off.
ReplyDeleteLooks greener in Buchanan than here! We had our Roanoke family visiting last week so although I managed to get a shot posted every day, I didn't do any commenting. So now I'm playing catch up.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really good question, and I would like to know, too. Our genius computer guy says to always keep the printer on. We turn the computer off every night, and of course the monitor shuts off at that time (or goes black). We never actually turn the monitor itself off. What is this house?
ReplyDeleteit is just someone's personal home that i have always liked!
Deletei wondered about you and hoped nothing bad had happened...
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back!
ReplyDeleteBe sure you have a screen saver if you leave your monitor on all the time. My PC is shut off most of the time, but runs when I need it to. With a Mac, I don't usually have to worry about such things, but still put it to sleep at night and sometimes shut it down entirely for when you do that an reboot the computer rids itself of all kinds of nasty loose ends.
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are back...I was sure hoping nothing was wrong! I click on the button on my monitor to turn it off while I leave my computer on. Do you have a button like that? My computer keeps losing the page I'm on, or freezing. I'm afraid I am about to crash. So if I disappear at some point for a while...you'll know why!
ReplyDeleteNothing wrong with leaving it on for that long, especially if you would like to replace it anyway. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, I have to try this sooner or later...
ReplyDeleteSorry I have no clue!
ReplyDeleteI have no clue, sorry. Glad you had such a nice break.
ReplyDeleteNice home.
ReplyDeleteI think my monitor goes to sleep after 30 minutes. But I had it on "never" before and had no problems.

Beautiful house!
ReplyDeleteGlad all is well on your end! We finished up spring break! Always nice to have some time off!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're back!
ReplyDeleteI had the bad tech karma, too. After two one hour calls to the call center in the Philippines and crawling up under my desk to plug, unplug, check fittings, and doing the Hokey Pokey, Time Warner finally sent out a technician who determined in two minutes that the signal was failing at the platform. We're connected now. Glad you are, too!

It's a small, small world! Do you know of Twin River Outfitters and the James River House? That's my friend's daughter and SIL's business.
