Good Fences & Ice Skating In Roanoke

A couple of weeks ago we saw them getting the outdoor ice rink ready...that's it, straight ahead...
...and last weekend it was ready to go! Funny thing, we were downtown on Sunday and walked over to see the rink...it was just me, Nick and Braden and Dalton...found out later that Christian and his girlfriend were there ice skating! We must have just missed each other! We'll be back to ice skate one of these days!

The outdoor rink is located in Elmwood Park...for more info CLICK HERE

  1. Ice skating sounds like fun, I have not been skating in years. Great fence scene. Have a happy day!

  2. I would have to people watch..my ankles are pretty much shot from all the clumsy falls I have taken over the years. I used to love to ice skate...back in the day.

  3. These city-sponsored rinks are very nice. Living in Florida, I don't skate on ice very much but I did a lot of ice skating growing up in Minnesota. We have an outdoor rink in Ocala, too. But they use faux ice. I'm not sure of what that is made. :)

  7. That would be so much fun to do only at my age now I wouldn't want to fall and break anything. Hope you go again and have fun skating.

  9. We've got outdoor rinks here (very convenient when one's waiting for the Canal to freeze over). They're getting them ready. Strange to think of an outdoor rink in the South.

  10. Lexington desperately needs more bike racks. Really nice first shot. Can’t believe you all have an ice rink. Exciting!

  14. They were there skating? A likely story. Sounds like the kind of tales I used to tell.
