Through My Lens - #JonasBlizzard

Well the storm came and went. It started snowing before we woke up Friday morning and snowed and snowed till early Saturday. I think we ended up with about 15 inches or so...not nearly as bad as they were predicting...thank goodness we never lost power! These pictures were taken around my backyard on Sunday, which was beautiful and sunny, and warm(ish)!
Peeking down the hill at the man who lives behind us...see him shoveling? You can also spy a little kid out playing...

What's Ozzy looking at?

It's his little friends next door...see them? I think they were tied to the porch so they wouldn't disappear in the snow! (Don't worry, they are indoor dogs, same as Ozzy!)

School was cancelled on Friday of course and they've already cancelled for Monday. Our road looks fine but the county I live in, Botetourt County, is mostly rural so there are a lot of those backroads that take time to get cleared. Bless the snowplow drivers!

  1. These are fantastic shots.
Thank God you did not hit full force of the storm.
For the children and animals, it is wonderful when a lot of snow.

  2. I love how Ozzy is looking at his friends on the other side. It seems as if they are wondering why there is so much snow on the ground. Thanks for linking in with Through My Lens.

  10. Hi Tanya, I did leave a comment earlier but Firefox and Blogger are giving me problems. These are wonderful snow scenes - love newly-fallen snow. You live in a beautiful area.

  11. That's still a lot of snow for your area. Beautiful shots.

Ozzy appears to be taking the snow in stride, and yes, I can see his counterparts.

It's a wise thing to cancel school, given the time needed to clear things up.

  12. Gosh look at Ozzy knee (do dogs have knees) deep in snow! Glad the boys are not heading out in that weather. I just about had to be scraped off the ceiling this morning.. did you get a visual :) such a clap of thunder and lightning, so unexpected.. it rained for a whole three minutes and then was unbearably hot and humid for the rest of the day.. Send me snow!!!!

  14. Sure are pretty pictures, love the one of Ozzy looking at his friends and the one of his little friends, too cute! We ended up having over two feet of snow and more where the drifts accumulated. Our wall and steps disappeared out front. They are there somewhere lol. Yes indeed, bless the snowplow drivers.

  21. Seeing your neighbor shoveling makes me think of my poor Buddy. The Bridge to Somewhere safe me to death when he is out there. We got 2 feet...how much did your get....and last night the yardstick showed it has only gone down to a foot. Guess it likes it here in my yard.

  25. Lucky your Dog is a Rottie & not a Dachshund or you'd never find him in that snow

  26. Oh my goodness! I do not miss snow! Our temp here on the Gulf Coast is 45 with a real feel of 40 today & that's about as low as I want to go. No chance of snow makes me happy!

Thanks for joining us at Photo Friday!!
