Welcome to my house:
Let's sit out on the back porch and watch the snow fall!
The kids have a 2 hour delay this morning so the boys are up bright and early to get some snowboarding in before school. It was cold overnight again, in the single digits so I'm sure the roads are icy, hence the school delay. The snow is melting fast though!
la première photo est superbe, on s'imagine dans un conte de fée. La maison est très belle sous la neige
ReplyDeletethe first picture is superb, it imagines a fairy tale. The house is very beautiful under the snow
Your home is beautiful! And the snow makes it look like it's from a storybook.
ReplyDeleteThat is really beautiful! I absolutely love your home. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteThanks guys! I love my home, but all credit goes to Col. Sperry for building it!
ReplyDeleteI like your Home. Very nice. It snowed up here, also. It's darn cold, too. In the single digits. Brrrr! Snow is melting which is good. Looking to Spring, soon.
ReplyDeleteStay well and warm.
Beautiful pictures of a beautiful home Tanya! You'll have to show us what it looks like when spring finally gets here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful home and setting. I love it all laced up in snow. When was the house built? And who was Col. Sperry?
ReplyDeleteBratt, the house was built in 1860 by Col. Sperry. His family lived here until he died in the late 1890's. My neighbor's ex mother in law lived here from the 40's through the 90's.
ReplyDeleteThe Sperry's had a family reunion last October and they toured our house. It was really neat!
Tanya... the front of your house deceives us as to it's large size... I can tell by the back that it's huge!
ReplyDeleteSnow should begin to melt today with the warmer temps arriving.

As one of my nephews in VA says, when it snows, you're rich.
ReplyDeleteIf it wasnt' for the brown bits we wouldn't see the house!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Olivier, it brings to mind a fairy tale house in the snow.
ReplyDeleteOh I am so jealous, your house is the kind I dream of living in. Will you adopt me?
ReplyDeleteWait, let me re-phase that, will you adopt me in the spring when the snow melts ha ha
Ohhh this is so pretty. I'd love to sit there with you watching all that!

ReplyDeleteSnow is pretty - but I'm looking forward to spring. I like your house and the history sounds fascinating. I lived in Virginia Beach for a while and was always fascinated with the history in Virginia.
