This old mill provided flour to the Confederate troops during the Civil War. It operated into the second half of the 20th century. I read that it was sold to a developer who plans to do a multi million dollar renovation.

ReplyDeleteGreat shot and interesting post for F week. Carver, ABC Wed. Team
ReplyDeleteSurprising it has lasted this long. What was it after flour mill? Factory of some sort? Great looking building. Glad someone is saving it.
ReplyDeletewhat a neat building - with all that moss/mold!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the win!
Goodness, there looks like a lot of history in that old building. Great photo!
ReplyDeleteThat doth show the wear and tear of over a century, but it's nice that it will be renovated - hopefully for some worthwhile purpose.
ReplyDeleteSo glad that you were on your best behavior and that you won last night!
Love the idea of repurposing buildings!
ReplyDeleteROG, ABCW
I'm glad they are renovating and not tearing it down!
ReplyDeleteThe canal used to come right beside the building and the flour could be loaded onto the boats.
ReplyDeleteThat is a cool old building! It looks like it could be haunted.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt you could take even more interesting photos inside.
ReplyDeleteI'm also glad they're not tearing it down! I wonder what it'll turn out to be like...:)
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a place. It could be the setting for a scary detective novel!
ReplyDeleteIt'll need a lot of work, but it seems to be worth it. It does remind me of something you'd see in a ghost story.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very nice building. That would be fun to renovate.
ReplyDeletePowerful photograph of this old mill. Can't believe there is enough remaining to renovates, but what do I know?
ReplyDeleteCool that someone would buy it and plan to renovate it. It looks very spooky indeed. I hope they will turn it into a museum.
ReplyDeleteThat looks old! I should like to see it when it is renovated! Thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteWil, BCW Team.
I think it would definitely take multi millions to renovate it, certainly looks in a bad way. Hope it's a success!
ReplyDeletewow, I like that building "as is", but if someone wants to spend on renovating it, who could be against if? Do you remember me?Had a blog Artistique here first, but moved it to wordpress. Thanks for visiting me earlier!
ReplyDeleteIt is definitely a wonderful old building. I hope the renovation is true to its history and appearance.
ReplyDeleteHello again!
ReplyDeleteI just typed a very long comment on your about page after looking around the blog. It was meant to go here...oops. I am Janis in Corona CA and you blog is lovely.
I did wonder if your Husband was related to a longtime Corona fellow by the name of Danny Breese? Not really a common name thought I would ask. He is no longer with us but was quite a character and ran our St Patrick's Day parade for many years.
What a building...love the photo!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome photo. I do hope they will be able to renovate and not tear it down! I has such history.
