I think this poor old place was on Quarterwood Road. It sits near the road up on a small hill. I wanted to get out of the car and poke around but I wasn't sure if it was private property. The land around it was taken care of. I'd love to have some of that old wood!

Nice find Tanya! The brick chimney looks like it might topple over though!
ReplyDeleteReclaimed wood is becoming very popular when building homes. I watch Fixer Upper, lol. Love the photos. Old buildings, abandoned and falling down intrigue me.
ReplyDeleteJust think, that was once someone's home
ReplyDeletei know...that is so sad to me...all those memories, just crumbling away...
DeleteWell the chimney is still standing! I always wonder what happened to once grand buildings that fall in disrepair. Perhaps we just have to create our own stories. Thanks Tanya for sharing this week and please return soon.
ReplyDeleteA rather sad sight.
ReplyDeleteI do wonder about its history...I love that first shot best of all!
ReplyDeleteThe old wood would be cool. That fireplace is a testament to whoever built it!
ReplyDeleteLots of memories crumbling down, sad to see.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely weathered wood.
ReplyDeleteI hope it stays that way for a long, long time!
ReplyDeleteSigh! Reminds me of an old sheep barn, what I saw for a few years and than it was falling down, as I came back...
ReplyDeleteNot sure you can call that a cabin anymore!
ReplyDeleteIf left alone that chimney will stand far longer than anything else.
ReplyDeleteThat is great wood.
ReplyDeleteThat is great wood.
ReplyDeletePoor thing, it is time to renew...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. Perhaps the owner who is caring for the land has some tender memories of the cabin's great days.
ReplyDeleteWow! There's not much left but it's cool the chimney is still standing.
