Duke University Chapel . Durham NC
Construction started in 1930 and was completed 2 years later...wow! Isn't it beautiful? We weren't able to tour it as it is currently undergoing some restoration work...We'll get back down there and see the inside eventually!
Click Here for the chapel's website and see some great old photos of the constuction.

A fantastic building, but more than a Chapel it is a Church or a Cathedral, I would say...
ReplyDeleteAwesome building, Tanya! The stonework is beautiful and those windows are beautiful! It would be wonderful to see inside!
ReplyDeleteLike the 3rd shot especially. Very majestic. Windows are one of my favorite subjects to shoot.
ReplyDeleteThose first two distant perspectives make quite a nice introduction.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful chapel!
ReplyDeleteThat is very impressive. Looks European. And it certainly reaches to the heavens. I guess this is where students go to pray before their final exams? :)
ReplyDeleteThat is a large chapel, nearly a cathedral and the details at the windows are so impressive.

ReplyDeleteFinally I can see the photos (connection was to slow yesterday), that's really wow and I cannot believe, that is build only 1930 in such short time. Looks like our caathedrals, a lot of centurys old...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, have a nice day
Nice images, Tanya. I spent a week on the Duke campus for a training program many years ago. It is a pretty place.
